  1. Looking good, though it's way too small for me Fingers crossed that everything works! Not easy to install something in there afterwards..
  2. Sadly she's keeping all the hardware..
  3. A Corsair Obsidian 1000D is on its way to me, the Fractal Design 7XL is not big enough for what I want. A few members had some advice on other big cases, but the square boxes are too wide to fit where I want the system to be. @BWG Ordered an EVGA 3090 NVlink bridge for me, I can't get that one over here. (And guess what that means.. ) Against all advice from @J7SC_Orion and all the recent complaints about issues with their blocks I was desperate enough to order a pair of EKWB Quantum FTW3 blocks and pre-ordered the active backplates. I really hope I'm lucky, fingers crossed..
  4. At this point I'm really starting to understand that frustration. And to be honest, my M40 has been 'parked' next to the workstation. Building and modifying is something I love, but figuring out all the errors etc is not my thing.
  5. Something is not right there, 2h 15m tpf is way too high! (1m 20s on a 3060)
  6. C2D was a few years before I started, which was 2009. So that sounds about right. The reason for the i7's was the bigadv units, that was a lot of fun and stress sometimes to finish the unit in time! I fired up all the hardware, and there is a 10 million ppd (negative) difference between yesterday and today thanks to the great units we've been given.
  7. I had 4 or 5 different ones. Currently using the PXC 550, man I love that thing
  8. My first and previous round of 24/7 was about 2 years long, 8500 units for 16 million points iirc. I had 3 GTS450's, 2 GTX460's and a GTX480 at that time, each system had a different i7 in it just for fun. The main was a 920, I had so much fun overclocking and benchmarking with that thing!
  9. Nice ride! Do you take it offroad sometimes or is it just for the looks? (both good reasons, as I like the looks ) I've never seen one in person, and 2 of them is pretty cool indeed! Looking good together
  10. Copy the link and paste it in a new window. Remove the "&type=score" and you have a link for your points. Just like this one, but add your user number: https://apps.foldingathome.org/awards?user=
  11. Are you sure you don't want to fold on a single card? Even a few hours is better than nothing I hope we will pick up a few good units, otherwise it'll be hard to beat the other FaT total. An easy win is never that much fun, I had the most fun with all the FaT's battling with @jpmboy, @Avacado and the last one with you. (and maybe some others I forgot to mention) Trash talking and bluffing that I had more hardware optional where I was just overclocking and cooling the .... out of everything It is great to have a few of the old guys back, and new ones to share the forums with. I was away for a few years but I do have some regrets leaving around 2011. It seems like you guys had a great time after that with folding@home
  12. I'm pretty sure E had this competition mixed with the Team Folding competition. I'm switching my hardware to 239902, though I'm waiting for everything to cool down a little. It's 86°F in the living room, I have no idea how hot it is in the office but I'm slowly melting
  13. The heat is not too bad over here, but with over 2kwh in one room it'll heat up pretty fast. So for now I can only fold full power with the windows open, which I'm only doing if I'm at home and awake. I can't wait to see that system online, would really help our way up the ranks but I do understand that the extra heat dump into the house is not really wanted at this time of the year.
  14. Just so you guys know what you are up against... And no, that's not me. I'm here enjoying my personal Sirocco @BWG @firedfly
  15. That Miata looks sweet! Nice A4 Joe, I bet that's a comfortable ride.
  16. My thoughts are with all her brothers and sisters in those systems. Suffering a loss like this, it must be hard to see your sister go up in flames...
  17. Nice project, I hope this one will work well! And about that thermal paste, that's enough to cool every single card and CPU I have if you spread that out...
  18. A custom wire loom would look good on yours too @BWG Really costly.. The Corsair Premium sleeved cables are €26 for a pair over here, and I need at least 5 pairs (not even in stock).. And 65cm might not be enough. I don't mind pulling the pins, and I have a lot of left over cable sleeves from my casemodding days. So I might try to make my own PCIe harness. The only problem is that I like to switch cards around, and having 3x8 at each of the 6 locations might be a bit too much.
  19. Those cables need some work indeed! But it looks good to see a card in (almost)every slot. I'm thinking about getting a lot of sleeved single PCIe cables instead of those double cables where you need to hide that little part.. And they are way more flexible so better to route, bundle and hide if needed. Downside is the cost of all those cables...
  20. Almost guilty, I asked BWG about it before bugging z.
  21. I know you like messing with him, but that post made us feel pretty bad which might not have been your intentions but that's sometimes the problem on the internet. My reply was never meant to hurt your feelings, on the contrary, I was trying to understand why you posted that and if there is something going on. (hence the "friendly voice") And you are right that it's a little concerning how much hardware BWG has, I made sure he knows what I think of what he's doing and that I am going to steal his HydroCopper card
  22. Please read this in a friendly voice: First of all, please speak for yourself. I do enjoy looking at those numbers, which you might know, and maybe others too. I understand that posts like that may sound like bragging, but he can be proud of what he's building and I'm proud for him. Same as I really enjoyed your Tesla adventure! (or everyone's builds for that matter) For me Folding at home always has two sides, the competition and the research. That's why I have a lot of hardware too, and if I could there would be a few more cards just like he has. Hopefully everything is well, cause I really don't know you like this. And if @BWG wants to win he's got 2.5 billion points to go
