  1. So the Meshify S2 came in today, and I am very happy with it! I love the design, might be the reason why this is my 5th Fractal case It's my first white case, but I have no regrets. With the black and white sleeved cables it looks pretty good, now I just have to wait for my rma'd 2080s to return and it'll be done for while That sounds like an other great deal UltraMega!
  2. I am pretty sure that the battery is safe if you are using a power cable to the wall. It is protected from overcharging, so safe to use it that way. I only unplug my laptop if I need to take it somewhere, but if I need to use it at home I use the power cable most of the time. As for that Dino PC, the GPU will fold pretty good! Around 2 times the PPD from your Razer Blade should be no problem. I have no idea what that CPU will do, but make sure you keep an extra core free for your GPU as we discussed before. You don't want to slow down that 2070
  3. Yes, that card needs some thorough cleaning. How does that pc intake clean air, from the bottom standing on the floor or on a desk?
  4. Exactly! And the more you bring the fitting away from the heatsink with a thread extender (I have the bitspower g1/4 ones in different sizes) the more room for the bends you'll create at the highest part of the tube. Nice drawing by the way, makes it easy to visualize
  5. I like where this is going, old school Geiger meters and knife switches! That control panel really looks like some of the switchboards in the control room on larger vessels. I always like looking around there, especially on the older ships! Free candy is always nice, my favorite watercooling shops always hides it somewhere in the packaging
  6. ? Not sure what they cost new, but I bet that's a lot more than 180 dollar!
  7. My first infraction on this forum, hopefully no ticket ? Thanks for the update, looking good! I'm a little afraid of that thight tube bend in the top, if you manage to pull it off I'm sure it'll take a few tries. The only way to give the bends a little room there is going straight up, make a 90 degree bend into the corner where you've drawn the upward tube and make a 90 back down and/or use a thread extender to bring the fitting a little further away from the block to create more room (will also work for the bend you've drawn, but still not as much room). I love the colors you've chosen for the sleeving, the mdpc-x products are awesome. I still have a large box filled with sleeving and heatshrink from them I second this, the size of some games is really insane! My MW folder is 240GB alone...
  8. Not that I like paying that bill, but it's something I chose to do. Would be nice if I had a few solar panels to power my systems Thanks! Nice work over there, almost 9 mil average is some dedication! I don't have enough hardware to produce that at this moment, I need my 2080s back.. [EDIT] With our current average team PPD we only have 3 teams that will overtake us. With the help of Supercrumpet soon it will only be one! Moving up the ranks, 6 teams in the next 24 hours. Nice work everyone
  9. Thanks, I was not aware that I was that close. Now onto the 1 billion points About the power bill, I just write a blank check and hope for the best...
  10. The Mighty TJ07! I wanted one, but bought a CoolerMaster ATCS 840 instead. It also had the motherboard tray which was awesome! I'm glad you are reviving this case, and I can't wait to see what you come up with. Have fun and thanks for sharing
  11. Happy to help! Also, just noticed I'm at half a billion points for EHW
  12. It's always fun to build a pc with used parts! I hope he'll enjoy that system, nice work ? Also, welcome to EHW @Salty_Pepperpot
  13. I bought a black and white Fractal Design Meshify S2, a black and white Corsair cable kit and a black and white mouse So I was going to ask a question, but I decided to google it first and now I know why. (Why not SSD instead of HDD) If you lose the 10 mil, you know you can order just the 10 mil instead of a whole set
  14. I enjoy classical music from time to time! But I listen to this kind of classical music more often
  15. Mr. Grit should work on his (over)weight first before hating on the cute flying piggies, and my kitties take the mice indoors instead of chasing them out. 1 vote for strapping the mice to a rocket and banning them into space!
  16. Yeah, I love WT! Been my number one for the last decade on Spotify
  17. What I was trying to say: if you know how many Points Per Day the CPU and GPU produce together, you could check what the GPU produces alone. Compare those results and you might find out that it's more efficient to run GPU only. Less heat most likely means that the GPU will clock a bit higher resulting in lower Time Per Frame so more (bonus)points! 1.4 million on a laptop is really good! Those temps are not bad at all, I was expecting a bit higher
  18. Nice! ? I'm interested in the results once you've done a few units on that 2070. You might want to try folding on the gpu only after you've set a baseline, and check if it does increase the ppd (less heat from the cpu resulting in higher clocks for the gpu).
  19. I always like to see some testing on new hardware! Let's hope the 3070's perform really good so @Supercrumpet gives me his 2080ti's By the way, working hard to increase the lead even more! Good luck catching me after you're done reaching that 2 billion at ocn..
  20. Do you remember what the temps were like when the card was new? 88C sounds really high, but there are many results if I google it (no personal experience with the 9xx cards). I would take a good look at the cooler surface and chip like @Mistio said, look at how the paste has been pressed out to the sides on the die(maybe not enough pressure), and confirm that all 3 of the fans work. If all the above is looking like it should I would try to add fans to direct cool air to the gpu, and make sure the hot air can escape out of the case. Play around with the config and look for changes.
  21. It should hit thermal limits and start downclocking a bit to stay somewhat safe. I did some folding on my laptop GeForce 850M, 125k ppd on the gpu maxing out at 80c with a few mhz drop from hitting thermal limits.
  22. Hey Cerberus, welcome to EHW
