  1. I always like to see some testing on new hardware! Let's hope the 3070's perform really good so @Supercrumpet gives me his 2080ti's By the way, working hard to increase the lead even more! Good luck catching me after you're done reaching that 2 billion at ocn..
  2. Do you remember what the temps were like when the card was new? 88C sounds really high, but there are many results if I google it (no personal experience with the 9xx cards). I would take a good look at the cooler surface and chip like @Mistio said, look at how the paste has been pressed out to the sides on the die(maybe not enough pressure), and confirm that all 3 of the fans work. If all the above is looking like it should I would try to add fans to direct cool air to the gpu, and make sure the hot air can escape out of the case. Play around with the config and look for changes.
  3. It should hit thermal limits and start downclocking a bit to stay somewhat safe. I did some folding on my laptop GeForce 850M, 125k ppd on the gpu maxing out at 80c with a few mhz drop from hitting thermal limits.
  4. Hey Cerberus, welcome to EHW
  5. That is pretty cool! I can't wait for those sexy pics Would be funny to try climbing a ladder and use the camera that way, just don't fall on the hardware...
  6. @J7SC_Orion I am speed! @Supercrumpet I love listening to classic trance nation playlists and stuff like while I'm driving, that track fits in perfectly. This was one of them on the way home today:
  7. You've got some work to do over here, but 1 billion overall difference is a lot! I don't see myself closing that gap anytime soon. Catching up takes a lot of time. That's why I chose for a head start for EHW I have some plans, if the 3090 performs good enough to justify an upgrade with that price tag I'll get one of them (if in stock somewhere), or some future 3080 "super". There is also a 2080 super that should return to me soon (rma) to replace the 5700xt's (way more ppd and less power). It will take some time though, so you can close the gap a bit ?
  8. Thanks guys! And congrats @Supercrumpet! I've got some catching up to do...
  9. I've never been really into ssd's so I had no idea that they are not affected by magnets. But I have a few brackets to mount them, and like you mentioned I also used tape a few times. With NVMe and PCIe ssd's I don't have those problems anymore, and no cables to hide!
  10. Shameless double post, because yesterday I reached a total of 1 billion points combined from both teams I fold for
  11. I'm interested if there is any influence from the magnets on the read/write and if any errors occur. But even if the test is positive, I'll never put magnets behind my SSD
  12. On the way home after 15 hours of work, no speed limits were broken
  13. That's a lot of money for a few bushings! I searched for urethane bushings, but I did not find any for your model. Is it a "press in" type of bushing? Maybe it's the same as some other Lexus model, or Toyota maybe..
  14. Banned because everyone in this thread has been banned already.
  15. Welcome guys! It's nice to see so many of you joining
  16. Time does fly, just like that 'work'station What sort of fluid do you use?
  17. That hurts to watch ? After seeing that I totally understand why you have 6 of them! And for only 4 dollars each it's nothing compared to a board or a cpu. Looking at the video, he might have been a bit distracted. But it almost looks like you need 3 hands to take out the carrier..
  18. Do you filter any of the intake fans? I'm not really familiar with the O-11 Dynamic, but taking in cold outside air through your rads would still be my favorite option. With two rads pulling in the air and some good exhaust fans it really doesn't matter which side is intake or exhaust. The little bit of movement from rising hot air is nothing compared to a few good 120 or 140 fans. I like to set my cases up with positive pressure and some dust filters. For example, I have a pushpull 420 rad and 2 casefans as (filtered) intake and a pushpull 280 rad and one casefan as exhaust. No change in temps since changing from 280 as intake and 420 as exhaust (420 is in the top) but there is almost no dust inside anymore. The spacing on the bottom looks good, so maybe top and bottom rad as intake and those sidefans as exhaust? That's what I would try the first time.
  19. Now you mention it, it's not "fun" at all.. Banned for making me regret my choice of words.
  20. Banned because the vet took my ear off to mark me as "been neutered" (fun fact, they actually did that to "my" adopted strays. Just a tiny tip from the ear but still..)
  21. Welcome to EHW! It feels dirty at first, but you'll get used to it
