  1. banned coz...'The good, The Bad and the Ugly' is a better fit, no ?
  2. I finally had the time to disassemble the two X570 systems that had been running on their own for work and play for a few months and get them ready for the TT Core P8...Asus CH8 Dark w/ 5950X (paired w/3090 Strix OC) left front, Asus CH8 Hero WiFi (paired w/6900 XT) left rear... A new Dremel Ultra Saw joined the fray for a bit more oomph than my regular, trusty Dremel as there's a lot of precision-cutting to do, and the TT Core P8 is heavy-gauge metal (and just plain heavy...)
  3. banned coz...pookie dookie alive and well where's the promised bacon ?
  4. rest in peace, Charlie Watts !
  5. ...a few years ago, I actually bought a relatively bulky 1Kw table saw complete with a metal-cutting blade at Home Depot to prep an older PC build with copper tubing...I still have tinnitus just thinking about that one - in a condo 30 floors up in a downtown high-rise ...turns out that even the 'little' Dremel could do that required cutting in a cinch. ...the 'Borg Dremel model' is for heavier-gauge steel and aluminum cutting (ie. modding a 3/4 inch test-bench frame), and it also has a 3/4 inch drywall cutting arrangement that will come in handy for my home office renovation (...at the cost of also renovating the kitchen-dining area - coz...females' dream kitchen demands for trade-off)
  6. Thanks ! ...I don't fell so bad anymore for all the GPUs I hoarded over the years...now you need to buy more fans, though
  7. ...video shoot at the EHW lounge ?!
  8. ...all told, I have about 10x D5 I can play with across the three w-cooled systems in Ravens' Nest...also, I measure flow by sight...per above / below... if it looks good, it flows good
  9. Borg-Dremel to join regular Dremel coz...'resistance is futile'
  10. ...so like EVGA Classifieds - which are > than FTW3s - are at the back of the bus ?
  11. banned coz...that sounds entirely fishy ! also banned coz your garage is just too small, so get with it
  12. ...less colour, more dreary ...Toronto and NY as both had real thunderstorm weather
  13. ...^^ I read multiple news reports last week in both Europe and N.America on this as well, including on limiting shifts in several factories, especially re. e-models. ...somewhat related, when I bought out the BMW X5 company car lease back in June, I noticed that the dealer was none too happy for not just rolling it over for models they had on the lot...obviously several reasons for that, but it also turns out that the lease buy-out price (fixed per contract in 2017 when new) was much lower than similarly-equipped used models are going for now as a result of the chip shortage.
  14. ...existing 'nest 2' - a TR2950X w/ 2x 2080 Tis - is going under the knife (and screwdrivers...) on the weekend for the new Ravens' Nest configurations. This system was completed over 2.5 years ago and will also get some fresh liquids in the process. Instead of its current 5x 360/60 XSPC rads (2 on the front of the TT Core P5 and 3 on the back, below in test config with temporary tubing), it will 'have to do' with 3x 360/60 XSPC rads. It will also lose its 4x Swiftech D5 pumps and instead have its liquids circulated by a XTop Revo dual D5 siamesed pump setup. When all is said and done, the extra space gained on the rear will be occupied by a second mobo, an Asus Maximus V Extreme, dual-booted for Linux and Win 7 which continues to be patched by Microsoft, like hose two updates over the last two weeks...
  15. ...fun fact #2: Aston Martin and Mercedes have several 'connections', while the Chrysler 300 still has some older-model Mercedes E class genes.
  16. I like the Beemer ZF (?) automatics, especially in sport mode...
  17. ...the 96c/192t Zen4 would be great for certain workstation apps, but for now, the 32c/64t WRX8 '5775' (?) Zen3 8-channel RAM looks the yummiest for all around use.
  18. banned for not banning the admin ! Long live the revolution (per 'famous last words' department)
  19. banned for not watching enough late-night tv infomercials, than rushing to order shark vacuums
  20. ...both GPUs will have two connections each - one to the new LG C1 48 OLED for 4K/120Hz via HDMI 2.1... ...and the 40 inch Philips workstation monitor (VA panel) that is superb for text and graphics production ...this pair of braided HDMI 2.1 cable works great, as confirmed by testing with both GPUs at 4K/120Hz/HDR etc
  21. ...all component systems have been running fine for months, but it is time to get serious not only about the 'combination build', but also the visual interfaces for this home-office work & play setup. ...pressure testing the GPU water blocks w/ dual D5s on full speed (GPU blocks are Phanteks for the 3090 Strix OC and replacing the EKWB block which has some quality issues; a new Bykski for the Gigabyte 6900XT OC).
  22. banned coz...shop vet vacuum shark also handy for clean-up
