  1. Definitely following along for this one. The TJ07 and TJ11 were two of the classic top-end cases from the era of when I jumped into PC building.
  2. Would be very exciting if this is accurate and the performance translated to gaming. Been a bit too long since we've had proper competition in the high end GPU market.
  3. Very interesting, I'm now even more curious about what effect Big Navi will have now. I still stand where I have been with the driver debate. Been a while since I've mained AMD, but I never had major issues during the few years that I did. Nvidia GFE has been a bit of a heaping pile of trash every time I've used it, and updates fail half the time as well. Nvidia control panel is functional enough, but Surround settings are finicky and it looks like it's from 2008. Could be better, could be worse. Interesting that I seem to have had such a different experience from others. Part of me wants to go back to AMD for a bit just to see how things are, but that's really hard for me to justify since folding performance is a fairly large consideration for me when shopping for GPUs these days.
  4. I don't think I really have anything on my Oculus account since I ran everything on SteamVR and the Oculus app ran on the side. Regardless, this really only pushes me to get rid of my Rift sooner rather than later. Don't want anything to do with this. I do have a FB, but it's never really active (after reinstalling Windows on my main PC two weeks ago I still haven't logged in), but it's nice to have one so I can peek at FB marketplace every now and again, and there are some really useful Formula SAE resources in FB groups. Anyways this isn't really surprising; FB's relation alone is what made me consider getting an OG Vive instead of a Rift CV1. I just couldn't justify the price increase though, as I got mine new for $350 on Black Friday and the Vive was still $600.
  5. Congrats! 200M for me to go before I switch over, ETA 3-ish weeks.
  6. Yeah I've been thinking about how it's expected to perform in F@H, hopefully (also assuming supply actually exists) it doesn't make me regret my used 2080 Ti purchases too much.
  7. Man how many SSDs do you guys run that leave you with no place to mount them? Or are they just older cases? I feel like I haven't yet been fortunate enough to have that problem, but with current prices I think I'm getting close.
  8. Thanks! Hah, I feel like I'm the one that needs to do the catching up. I'll rack up some more points for an OCN milestone and then go full force for EHW, chasing after you for that #1 spot. Will be many months though, it feels like watching turtles race or something, despite the sheer amount of points output.
  9. Similarly, I hit 2 billion combined today!
  10. Indeed, finishing in the points was impressive with no practice. (Granted, the rest of the field had only one practice session, but still.) Supposedly he's being considered for the second RB seat next year but I'm skeptical. I'd love to see it though.
  11. This exactly. Other than my very first GPU, I've always purchased used or on clearance, and these days I find myself buying 70% or so used PC parts, usually when the next generation comes out. Saves lots of money and most of the bugs are ironed out by then. Of course that means I don't get to be at the bleeding edge of technology, but I'm more than willing to accept that as long as my stuff works. I've taken the same approach to games too. Wait 6+ months for them to go on sale and for major issues on launch to be resolved.
  12. Reviews out today, looks like your initial assessment was spot on @axipher. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/surface-laptop-go
  13. I do still prefer LGS to G-Hub, but they both work well enough for me. The exception to that was the G29 racing wheel we had at the FSAE shop. G-Hub had become the new standard and it really didn't like connecting with the wheel. Fortunately I moved away from my personal G29 to nicer hardware before then, so I didn't have to deal with that mess much. Still had smaller, occasional issues with connecting it to LGS back in the day though, so maybe it was a hardware thing after all. Interesting, that does about line up with what I've heard then. Back in the Black Widow days, there were lots of quality issues with individual keys sticking or no longer functioning after just a few months of use, but they seem to have upped their keyboard game at the very least. I'm not as informed on the quality of their mice, but I know a lot of people like them. Glad you enjoy the boards.
  14. I did find this site which seems to be set up by some LTT users that pulls data frequently, but I'm not sure how much (though judging by the size of that team, probably quite a bit). Should have more up to date info, but again, not certain how accurate it is. https://folding.lar.systems/
  15. banned because my window is narrow enough for it to always be centered
  16. Interesting indeed, thanks for sharing. Like the article suspected, I didn't expect that QC would take 5-ish times as much as production time, but that seems reasonable now that I think about it.
  17. Agreed. I know of a few places around here that have done some bulk mobile ordering recently, and a couple friends of mine have gotten internships and coops with companies that will send them a laptop and they can work from home for the semester without ever going onsite. Quite jealous of that, if I'm honest.
  18. What sort of switches do you have in those? Last time I checked, Razer still offers a couple or three choices for switch type in their boards and still do their own custom switches as well, but I've lost track to be honest. How's the build quality as well? Never owned a Razer product before, largely because of the price, but historically they haven't had the best quality either, especially in their keyboards. I'm in the same boat as far as software goes. Only ever used LGS (and now G Hub) for my Logitech mice and briefly whatever Corsair's software is for the Ironclaw mouse I had for one month before it kicked the bucket very prematurely. Never had much trouble with any of those, but mice tend to be more straightforward than keyboards as far as software customization. I like that Logitech has gone for some more subtle and minimalistic designs with their gaming boards, especially considering some of their previous offerings like the 710+ and 910. How do you like the switches? Any striking difference between those and more common linear switches from Cherry or Gateron? All three of you have been added to the spreadsheet, thanks for posting. You've also just about doubled the count of gaming keyboards on the sheet as well. ?
  19. Seconding this. I would like to get an updated GPU PPD database of sorts going that includes CUDA changes to see if anything has shifted around, but we'd need a good sample size across a wide range of cards. That's why I never got around to submitting WUs from my 1070 Tis and 980 Ti; their performance was oudated by that point.
  20. This game is still one of the few recent releases that I look forward to playing when I can put down the games I'm busy with now and have some more time as well, especially with my recent PC upgrades. Glad to hear you've had a very positive experience overall.
