  1. Heavily depends on prices for me as well. I don't have much of an urge for new hardware at the moment, which is a bit of a blessing I suppose, but I also wouldn't be surprised if one of my cards kicks the bucket sometime in the not-too-distant future. Granted, I still have two R9 Furys lying around that I keep mentioning, and they still pack a punch, so even that wouldn't warrant new cards. Furthermore, I find myself not playing many new AAA titles that demand a lot of GPU power these days, so that helps out in its own way. Plus there are other things in life that are calling for my wallet at the moment, so I suppose I've gotta pick and choose which hobby gets my attention. At the end of the day I guess I've never been one to jump on new GPUs since they tend to be so expensive, but I'll happily pick up the high end cards from their generation when they're getting replaced and/or go on clearance. That is how I purchased my last four GPUs, after all.
  2. banned because I 100% read that as "free meditation with daddy" and frankly im not a fan of that phrase
  3. Some of you may have seen my post in the Last Purchase thread, but my order with some new Fanatec stuff was delayed because stuff that I bought wasn't actually in stock when I ordered it, despite saying it was available. Regardless, I cancelled that order and made a new one with the CSL 1.1 instead of the Clubsport V2.5 hub and the same CSL pedals (will get the loadcell later, just running two pedals for now) and the Formula V2 wheel with the Podium paddle upgrade. Showed up today and set everything up. I'm really enjoying it so far, mainly did some testing in iRacing. Compared to the G29, I'm really impressed with how smooth and quiet everything is, and the wheel is excellent. Really nice to see they made it out of actual carbon fiber, as someone who makes that stuff for my FSAE team. Next thing on the list is setting up the dual clutch paddles for theoretically faster launches. Should be a cool feature.
  4. I may get in on this so I'll throw my name in now, Minecraft username is Supercrumpet.
  5. I have my results for these around somewhere, but it's been a long time and I may run those benchmarks again for the heck of it. Will report back.
  6. https://www.motorsport.com/gaming/news/lando-norris-spins-wins-cota/4784885/ Interesting result, I'd like to go back and watch this one.
  7. I'm okay with this going by WU since that's not really dependent on high end hardware like raw points output. Just had a look, and out of the top five WU counts, only one of those won a prize. I think there were enough entries to make it enough of a random draw, and there was plenty of time for folks to get in a healthy number of WUs if they really wanted to commit to it.
  8. Source So it doesn't affect the Switch directly, but shared passwords with the store could mean money was spend there without the user's consent.
  9. Well that's interesting, now my daily use desktop/gaming rig is getting units perfectly fine, but neither my sim rig nor my 24/7 folding are getting units at the moment. Maybe I spoke too soon.
  10. I daresay it seems like WUs are coming in normally again. Anyone else seeing the same?
  11. Oh man I always kinda wanted one of those. Really unjustifiable for me to get it though. I love the irony of profits from an OCN-related product going towards EHW efforts lol
  12. One or two PC building friends and I have done that with our rigs before and none of us have had any related issues, so that I'll throw in another vote to say that seems like a reasonable plan.
  13. Yeah I've heard about that with Linux installs and some old Windows server OS installs too. I think my 24/7 Linux folding rig has been going steady for about 90 days now. Usually it doesn't get too bad for me on this PC but for some reason or another my computer seemed like it was trying to murder itself yesterday.
  14. Right so I just got an email from Fanatec that basically said "hey yeah you know that order from two weeks ago, well you made the order and it said everything was in stock but your wheel hub is actually out of stock so we'll ship everything when it's back in around mid-june kthx"
  15. I've got 32 GB to enable my bad habits to have a billion tabs open across six Firefox windows, and also to not restart my computer for a month to just fold. My restart yesterday was 29 days since my last one and I was up to 24 GB of RAM usage with no games running. It was pretty bad.
  16. Very nice. What kind of temps do you get under load with those triple slot coolers?
  17. Now that you mention it, I would definitely look into Linux since folding outputs tend to be 10% better or more, in my experience, compared to Windows.

  19. I'll be keeping my eye on this one I think. My Galaxy S8 is still going strong it seems, but I haven't really figured out what I'll replace it with when the time comes, and a headphone jack is a must. I've also never been bothered by the subtle curve in the screen, I'm a little surprised by how much the article was complaining about that.
  20. Very interesting, I'll definitely be following this project and may contribute at some point as well.
  21. Agreed, was a great turnout, and I think it's appropriate to wrap it up at the originally planned time.
