  1. To my understanding didn't CDPR just do something similar for an event related to Cyberpunk 2077?
  2. Ah, okay. I run my folding rig without any display attached, but I remote in using AnyDesk so I can still control everything more or less traditionally. I haven't thought about how having a display attached or not might affect folding performance, that's something interesting to think about.
  3. Awesome to see. Eye tracking is a really cool feature, and it's nice to see it becoming more practical.
  4. As far as that setup process goes, what difference does it make if the system is headless?
  5. ayy I'm getting new monitors at the end of the week but youre banned cuz I still gotta go to work
  6. Yeah that's a bit relatable. My setup at home was in a bedroom directly on top of our garage, which basically turns into a big oven over the summer. So that of course heats up the floor what with hot air passively rising and heats up that room too. Not ideal.
  7. IRL racing starting up again, beginning with Nascar!
  8. I've seen them before, but I never actually set one up and I've forgotten where they're from... how did you set up your folding stats in your signature?
  9. How long have you been waiting to use that pun lol?
  10. There it is. https://www.mclaren.com/racing/team/daniel-ricciardo-drive-mclaren-2021/ https://www.ferrari.com/en-EN/formula1/articles/carlos-sainz-scuderia-ferrari-season-2021-2022
  11. Interesting F1 news yesterday that Seb is no longer going to drive for Ferrari after 2020, but he's not necessarily retiring. We'll see if this creates a domino effect with drivers swapping around after someone takes his seat.
  12. I'm in as CptAsian. Are the entries same as last time, based on WU or is it just a simplified one entry per person once they submit one or five WUs or something? And thanks for organizing another giveaway!
  13. I use Solidworks for FSAE so we're always working on parts and assemblies stored on our server since we're all working from the shop, our apartments, or depending on the time of year, any other location in the country. As a result, network speeds (sometimes over a VPN if you're not on the campus network), is the real bottleneck. Gets annoying sometimes, but the system works well otherwise for what we have to work with.
  14. banned for not banning hard enough we take this banning stuff pretty seriously around here
  15. Yeah the pricing from MS is usually pretty steep, but I recently purchased the highest spec Surface Pro 6, so a generation or two old now, for hundreds off MSRP on Amazon. I think it was a pretty good deal, and I enjoy using it. I can work with 3000 part Solidworks files... acceptably. Certainly better than I expected.
  16. Source Also @ENTERPRISE I noticed a typo on your example of posting news traditionally, says [TECHRADER].
  17. Seconding this. There have been quite a few cases of some weird issue that may or may not actually be obviously GPU-related. I'll just update or reinstall GPU drivers and the issue is fixed. It's a great fix to try, and it doesn't take long either.
  18. Heavily depends on prices for me as well. I don't have much of an urge for new hardware at the moment, which is a bit of a blessing I suppose, but I also wouldn't be surprised if one of my cards kicks the bucket sometime in the not-too-distant future. Granted, I still have two R9 Furys lying around that I keep mentioning, and they still pack a punch, so even that wouldn't warrant new cards. Furthermore, I find myself not playing many new AAA titles that demand a lot of GPU power these days, so that helps out in its own way. Plus there are other things in life that are calling for my wallet at the moment, so I suppose I've gotta pick and choose which hobby gets my attention. At the end of the day I guess I've never been one to jump on new GPUs since they tend to be so expensive, but I'll happily pick up the high end cards from their generation when they're getting replaced and/or go on clearance. That is how I purchased my last four GPUs, after all.
  19. banned because I 100% read that as "free meditation with daddy" and frankly im not a fan of that phrase
  20. Some of you may have seen my post in the Last Purchase thread, but my order with some new Fanatec stuff was delayed because stuff that I bought wasn't actually in stock when I ordered it, despite saying it was available. Regardless, I cancelled that order and made a new one with the CSL 1.1 instead of the Clubsport V2.5 hub and the same CSL pedals (will get the loadcell later, just running two pedals for now) and the Formula V2 wheel with the Podium paddle upgrade. Showed up today and set everything up. I'm really enjoying it so far, mainly did some testing in iRacing. Compared to the G29, I'm really impressed with how smooth and quiet everything is, and the wheel is excellent. Really nice to see they made it out of actual carbon fiber, as someone who makes that stuff for my FSAE team. Next thing on the list is setting up the dual clutch paddles for theoretically faster launches. Should be a cool feature.
