  1. A spare GPU for folding is the perfect excuse to build a whole new system around it haha. So as of this morning I can see we have broken into the rank of the 800's. That is some nice going guys. We have also as of this morning submitted 2223 WU's !
  2. Source: https://www.extremetech.com/computing/309389-western-digital-seagate-reportedly-shipping-slow-smr-drives-without-informing-customers Man that is just poor. Luckily I always check HDD specs thoroughly to check its data recording method, especially for NAS environments BUT companies should be more transparent when using different technologies for different capacity drives when they are on the same product line, that is just cheeky.
  3. Hey all, I was recently speaking with Asrock support with respects to some issues that I had been having with my board. The come back to me with an unreleased Beta BIOS to try. Unfortunately they supply no change log and have only told me that it is not a major release (So no new AGESA) but brings various fixes. I have flashed this BIOS onto my board with success and all seems normal right now. I thought I would share just in case it fixes any problems any one else has. Plus lets face it, some of us like to be on the bleeding edge. Of course if you flash this BIOS and it goes wrong, you can use the flashback feature to restore your motherboard. Please see BIOS attached to this post. If anyone has any joy or figures out what was fixed between release 1.71 and this one, feel free to post. All the best, E X570 AQUA P2.03.7z
  4. GPU Units are coming through, just sparingly I find. So I just did a little count and we are up to 1950 Work Units submitted ! Not too shabby at all.:eat_cheers:
  5. They have been struggling to get WU's out but my CPU still gets WU's and GPU's are starting to get them again.
  6. I can only hope lol. Realistically though game engines have come such a long way so I expect we will get a super awesome looking game that does not need 2.4 exaFLOPS of computing power to run. Doom Eternal IMHO looks great and for what it looks like on nightmare settings, it does not require the earth thanks to Vulkan.
  7. Source: https://www.tweaktown.com/news/71852...ing/index.html Well it certainly is good news and it is clear they will use the same RT engine as they did in the Neon Noir Benchmark !
  8. Keep up the fantastic works people ! I know the WU's have been slower, hopefully they will pick up. I myself have had only CPU WU's today.
  9. I think a dedicated forum for something like this would be premature. Why not create a ''Show your EHW Minecraft Builds" type thread in the game server section ?
  10. We certainly appreciate that bud ! So I just though I would give a little update, we have submitted as of today 1639 WU's to the cause. That is fantastic work chaps ! Oh and I seem to be downloading work units again now after a PC reboot.
  11. On that point....I will stop complaining lol.
  12. Hopefully more Work Units will make it out. Im about to spin up my machine so will see if I get some after my current ones complete. I hope to do this type of giveaway again for sure. Hoping to do a more routine one but obviously prizing won't be as substantial every time lol. Also EHW already has a BOINC team setup, I just have not formally announced yet
  13. Nice, looks like it can pump out some points for sure. Yeah the work units have slowed a little, hopefully we will get another batch come through soon.
  14. I heard you were going to share some of that Internets with me ?
  15. Certainly is, it was fairly recently I was just going to go 4G internet only, but with the upcoming move there is no point anymore.
  16. Hey guys, So I think it is time for me to get one of these up and running since I lost my STEAM install folder (boo). I did a little searching and found this helpful article :Ars Technica I would look to use the VM capability on my QNAP NAS to do the hosting of the OS/Steam caching. I just wondered, for those who have Steam Cache servers running, what was the easiest method for you to get it up and running ? The article mentions several ways, but it would be good to get some opinions from those who have actually deployed this. I am more familiar with Windows but I have used Linux before (Ubuntu) when setting up folding clients, so Linux is not out of the question if it seems an easier way to go over Windows. Thanks in advance ! E
  17. Only time will tell. It is very possible a year down the line we will see ''Google & Apple use contact tracing system to farm user details" :angry_throw:
