  1. Thanks for the suggestion guys. As for the bloatware factor, never bothers me as any pre-build I buy, or get for someone else, I always wipe it clean and put on a vanilla version of Windows. I am well aware of the performance impact by bloatware and to this day still do not understand why they do it. I guess they pull people in with their flashy "Helpful" software haha. With respect to the Laptop vs Desktop compromises so far as performance, that much I have always been aware of. Desktops are more flexible in terms of power delivery, cooling etc. However while desktops are still more powerful, personal choice is the deciding factor here. I may still consider a cheaper laptop solution while keeping a lower power desktop for gaming, my mind is not made up on that. I would not get a laptop with an eGPU. I like the concept. but prefer a more everything under "one hood" experience. The laptop I go with will also be determined on serviceability. I have experience with pre-builds from the likes of other outlets such as SCAN etc and I will be honest, I am not that impressed with them. Spec wise they can be OK but for servicing and replacement parts, they are damn awful. That is what happens when a product is not mass produced. Further to this, the updates so far firmware/BIOS with boards from the likes of Clevo are also ...well crap. I am going to stick with large brands on this one. Thanks for the model suggestions, will keep those in mind and let you guys know what happens either way.
  2. Hey guys, It could be Cloudflare as it optimizes our images for better delivery through the CDN. We cannot replicate it our end right now. If it becomes a large issue that affects us with larger impact, I will take a look at it again Thanks, E
  3. Fingers crossed we will have it sorted soon. I will follow up with Axipher on his schedule, it looks like Axipher has an idea of the problem and may be able to pass this clue onto another who can login and look at fixing while he attends to life and family.
  4. Thanks, I will forward it on to see what it could be
  5. Thanks for the suggestion. They are nice laptops but unfortunately you pay a massive brand tax with Razer. You can get a comparative laptop for a better price. I find Razer to be a little like Apple in that respect. The Desktop would seldom get used. Getting the value for money proposition doesn't make sense keeping the tower. A. Keep expensive tower that on a daily basis wont be used and gathers dust. B. Have a decent laptop that will be used daily for work and occasional gaming. The plan is to move away from the office, while only using it to game when docked to my larger screen, mouse and Keyboard. Right now im using my desktop to occasionally game from time to time, but im using the laptop heavily everyday. Seems a waste of money having a Rig you are not really using.
  6. I have just seen a post on Facebook confirming the original voice (David Hayter) will be used for the MGS3 Remake, so that is good news.
  7. I always enjoy watching people punish old hardware to squeeze every ounce of performance out of them. Great job guys! @bonami2can we promote this on the socials please ?
  8. We will have to see how it goes bud and depends on Axiphers availability. Not sure what a backup plan would look like, other than using an external stats tracker like EOC.
  9. We do not show ads on this site just yet, but will be happening to help support the site running costs VerticalScope purchased OCN some years back, and like all there other sites, use it as a cash cow for their ads and other information stealing trackers. It is just one big money grab.
  10. Hey guys, Just a heads up, since we migrated the sites to the new server, we have created a slight hiccup whereby the stats site is not fully functional. Mr @axipher is kindly looking into the issue whenever he is available along with our server admin to try and get it back up to 100% Sorry for the inconvenience and apologies to @axipher for breaking things Thanks, E
  11. Ha lol. They are so behind it hurts. Plus the perks are fairly seldom really. What are they charging for the "Upgrade"
  12. For sure, there will be a time where SSD's prices will come to a point where it will make more sense. We all know the performance is there. Once the price per GB gets more favorable, then the performance increase would still warrant paying the little extra. I would love an all SSD array. I did look into it recently when I re-worked my home server but cost in 2023 didn't make sense. I reckon in the next 5 years, if I were to re-assess, SSD's would look better, but still cant be sure if they would be at a price point to pull the trigger. Time will tell. Ha, I see what you did there. It would be fantastic if any drive I owned had its endurance increased based on my ownership...one can dream.
  13. I have heard of those but would need to check their efficiency as Gas is still cheaper than electricity and ultimately the heat pumps still use electricity to run.
  14. They have come down in price by a fair whack at the 1-2TB but they do start looking less attractive as the capacity density increases and for any large storage 24/7 applications I still would not rely on consumer drives and would go the Enterprise route, by which point HDD's still make sense.
  15. Cost is always a consideration with electricity for Folding. That and heat. That is why I fold very occasionally. Energy is not cheap here in the UK. Also to get heat under control I would need to use my portable AC unit which is not cheap to run. In the long run I want to get a proper split AC setup for the office which is much more efficient than the portable, but its low priority and about £3K to purchase and install. Something for the future haha.
  16. Thanks for the feedback guys Glad everyone is experiencing the improvements.
  17. As far as I am concerned, I am happy for them to release the classics on PC and as long as it is a good port re-work I am happy. If they do a "remake" so long as they us all the original voice overs etc but simply update the graphics, again I will be happy. I will not be happy if they do away with any original material as that will not be true to the originals. The master collection is still being worked on, so will have to wait and see what they come up with. I am excited to see and hopefully enjoy a play through the originals again
  18. Certainly is coming to PC, Steam is a mentioned platform. I am hoping that any remaking/tweaking they do stays loyal to the originals. I love remakes/ re-releases but my concern is always that they may deviate...fingers crossed they wont with the MGS series (1-4). Welcome to EHW by the way
  19. Nvidia is king for AI acceleration and they are going to reap those rewards. With A.I arguably becoming more mainstream, they are only going to increase their market share. I would have liked more competition in this space, like with gaming from AMD and Intel. It is almost worst in the AI arena as Intel and AMD are at least from the surface have not invested as much as they should have...IMHO. The one thing I do not like about this is Nvidia is going to just keep growing, mostly unchecked and its going to hurt the consumers.
  20. Hello all, I am pleased to announce that we have moved to our new server and hopefully you will all be able to see the performance improvements . We shouldn't have any technical issues but if anyone notices anything, please let me know. Regards, E
  21. I came across this today via Linus Tech Tips. The coverage of this cooling tech unveiled at Computex is exciting. It is not strictly "new" but good to see it is getting closer to being a more popular tech among consumer devices.
  22. So the dedicated graphics is being used, but you are just seeing a performance variance between drivers ? What's the difference in scores ?
  23. THIS ADVERT HAS EXPIRED!

This case is designed to house 6 GPU's (If using double height GPU's) for computational workloads, whether it be Mining or for projects such as Folding@Home/BOINC. Please note that I have made the following modifications to this case. 1. Cut 3x 120mm fan locations to the lid for additional fans. 2. Cut 2x Fan Controller slots to the lid for fan controller knobs for easy adjustment. 3. Cut 1x slot to the rear of the case for optional installation of a low profile controller GPU Case is in good condition, a couple of cosmetic blemishes through use. - Please refer to pictures for more. This case is great for power hungry applications as it also allows for installation of dual PSU's if required. Compatible with Full ATX Motherboards and will easily accommodate long GPU's. Front panels hosts 2x USB 3.0 & Power/Reset Switches. 24. Everytime I think Nvidia will not milk something this late in a generation, I am always proven wrong and low an behold a "Ti" variant arrives lol. Granted they are throwing a lot of there attention towards the AI/Data Centres. In all honesty it is anyone's guess as to what Nvidia's intentions are.
  25. **Update** The new server has been provisioned and tweaked ready to receive the site payload. We are just running a couple of other tests prior to the move
