  1. But dude, why can't Kim Jon un say whatever he wants to? He's a leader of a whole country. Authoritarian or not, he should have a voice. As should I. As should you. It is up to YOU to determine what you're reading is trustworthy or not and to check your own sources. Why does Twitter get to say who's right and who's not when they are hosting public servants who are supposed to be open with their citizens? It doesn't matter the opinion. I understand they're a private company, but again, when they started hosting public servants, they quit being private. They skirted around that fact because they are indeed a private company. But you're SUPPOSED to be able to contact public officials with anything. When that's the only way to contact an official, it becomes public domain. It just hasn't been changed legally yet, which is why they get away with it.
  2. You already quoted it at me earlier.... Let's try this again..... If me and you were to sit down and play monopoly, and we agreed to the rules as written in the instructions, everyone agrees in the game there. Now I'm starting to fall behind, and so I decided to change the rules to say only I can buy hotels for my properties. You disagree but go along with it. I then win the game. Did I cheat? "The Big Lie" in a nut shell right there.
  3. I already told you.... Businesses and individuals, PRIOR to 2020 weren't allowed to do that as it was illegal. They changed election laws in 2020 to allow it, against state and federal constitution, but the laws passed anyway, which they can do. They did exactly what conservatives say they did, they cheated. HOWEVER, they did so legally by passing new election laws. So was it really cheating? THAT is actually the real question we should be asking. Because technically they didn't. People who believe the news and pop culture say no it wasn't cheating. People who are more into constitutional rule of law say yes it's cheating as they changed rules to win. The fact that you have no recollection of the 2016 election even, shows that you don't know much more than what official sources tell you. 2016, it was mail in only for absentee ballots otherwise in person voting, and the count was done and the race called that night by state representatives (not businesses, not people). Same as it had been every other election in history. 2020 was different and the source I showed you proves that. Just read it, remembering that businesses and people weren't allowed to do that previously as it was illegal (election interference).
  4. So no, you don't then. I'm laughable? You are showing your ignorance on the subject, but I'm laughable? Because prior to 2020 it was up to the state representatives to ensure a free and fair election for their state. NOT businesses and certain individuals. That's like saying Facebook can run the 2024 election, screw the electoral process. This isn't my opinion, this is cold hard facts. Prior to 2020, states were responsible for the election, not businesses and people. They changed the election process in 2020, and that's EXACTLY what that article states if you had read it knowing anything at all about past elections.
  5. Do you know anything about election laws? Because that was illegal prior to 2020. The states are responsible for the election, not people and businesses.
  6. "The Big Lie"? You mean this lie, that mainstream media admitted to "a powerful group of companies and individuals "fortified" the election"? Give it a read. Time magazine themselves, which is a left leaning mainstream organization, admits the election had massive changes in 2020 compared to previous years. Massive changes. Or how about the lawsuits, that were never ALLOWED to produce evidence as they were thrown out of court before evidence could be presented, based off technicalities? Do you mean that big lie? The one from the news agencies which we ALL admit lie? Or do you mean more "conservatives are wrong, they don't get a voice", that big lie? Because I recall 5 years of "Russia hacked the election!", but now that it's flipped we can't say anything? How's that free and fair speech when the Russian thing was PROVEN, in a court of law, to be false? I've been trying to bite my tongue here, but seriously guys. Both sides are guilty. Government isn't there for the people anymore, from either side. It's all about the money, and it's big money at that. And YES FREE SPEECH MEANS NO CENSORING. Twitter is a mainstream location where public officials go to communicate with their people. When that started happening, Twitter ceased being a private company as it was then operating in public space (so people could talk with their representatives). Degradded used ram?

Actually that's not QUITE true today in 2022. Yeah, the FX series were a letdown on release day. However with the way EVERYTHING is so multithreaded now, the FX series CPU's actually perform better now than they did on release somehow. My FX 8350 is smoother to use than my old 3770k was in modern times. Even though the 3770k was faster on release, its been gimped since then due to security patches. The FX didn't have those vulnerabilities, and the multi-chiplet design just so happens to function fantastically with modern systems since all the threads now. I cannot say the same about first gen "Bulldozer", but I'd imagine its a similar story. The above is true for the Piledriver systems though, at least in my experience.

    Degradded used ram?

You know, to be honest it wouldn't hurt to give them a call and ask nicely (or nicely write an email). Worst they can do is say no. Super fast DDR3 is hard to come by, and I'm sure they know that. Honestly, for an FX build, I'd be happy with 1866 if you can find some. You're going to be hard pressed to even get 1866 stable on those IMC's anyway. Some people got like 2000-2133, but I couldn't tell ya how. My 8350 can't even do 1900.

    Degradded used ram?

It's certainly not impossible the sticks are bad. I was only leaning the way I was because DDR3-2400 is most definitely NOT supported by all motherboards. If there's no JEDEC standard speeds programmed to the sticks, like 1600 or 1333, then the system probably has absolutely no clue what to do with those 2400 sticks. Then again, you could be right that they were abused. Hard to say without a full workshop worth of goodies to troubleshoot really. Gigabyte motherboards of that era weren't too terribly bad on memory compatibility, even if the boards themselves weren't great. So yeah, its starting to sound more like the sticks might actually be at fault.
  10. Not trying to get too terribly political here, as this is a VERY touchy subject. However I love how that article blames the people for spreading fake news, but no mention at ALL of the news outlets that profit off the false headlines and outrage stories and that push those stories out to the masses. No mention at all of the owners of those outlets either that push the stories to their writers, cough cough AP, cough cough cough. That was a pretty decent read though, so thank you for sharing. I just think they dropped the ball on putting blame on the people, and not the authors of the stories. This is why I usually read as many sources as I can about a story, and make up my own decision on how I think the story actually goes based on the various sources I read about it. For actual news sources, I've really enjoyed the "AllSides" app as it shows literally all sides and leaves it up to the reader to determine which is true and which is not. And of course Elon wasn't going to buy Twitter. It was a "win" for one side, but of course it wasn't real. If you all have been paying attention, nobody has really "won" any of these partisan stories. It always ends like this, with disappointment. On both sides. It was just more fake news (kinda). Its a problem on both sides. We need to return to ACTUAL journalism IMHO instead of sensationalist fictional authors.

    Degradded used ram?

Nah, the CPU isn't the problem unless the IMC has problems. I have a Phenom II that's running DDR3-1866 just fine (officially supports 1066 I believe?). The FX first generation should absolutely handle at the very least 1333 I'd imagine just fine completely bone stock. People were running 1600+ on those fine too.

    Degradded used ram?

It honestly really sounds more like the motherboard just isn't compatible with those sticks to me. If you have another DDR3 system laying around, I'd give them a go in another board first. If you don't, try other RAM sticks again with the FX and see about updating BIOS perhaps. Maybe there was a compatibility patch.
  13. Daaaaaaaang man, I gotta get me a spare toothbrush now. That cleaning job you did on that card, just WOW! Night and day difference. Wanna clean some of my gear up for me? Too bad the card doesn't work though. Have you considered giving it a bake? Sometimes that can bring a card back to life, as I'm sure you already know. If you're not all that worried about it, then I'm not either. A 5770 really only probably holds sentimental value these days anyway, it never really was anything THAT special when it was released. Good card, but yeah.

    Degradded used ram?

RAM is one of those things that traditionally it either works or it doesn't. At the very least I'd expect it to work, but crash at higher speeds. The fact that it doesn't work at all (apparently?) at even DDR3-1066 speeds (533MHz), that's definitely a problem. I agree with PCSarge, kinda sounds more like an incompatibility with the motherboard than faulty RAM, especially when you're trying less and less sticks to no avail. Keep in mind too, you're NEVER going to see probably even DDR3-1866 with 4 sticks with an FX CPU. You'll be LUCKY to see 800MHz (DDR3-1600) with the IMC of that CPU. It's also possible your IMC is damaged on the CPU. I'd lean towards that over the RAM being faulty honestly as I've killed MANY MANY an IMC on a CPU.
  15. I'm really thinking about grabbing a 6950 too. It looks like its JUST ABOUT the amount of "oomph" I really need to play RT enabled titles at my resolution happier. Anyone wanna buy a 6900xt for cheaper than I paid a week ago?
  16. This is a toughy. If you play the waiting game, there's ALWAYS a better thing coming out in 6 months to a year. At the same time, yes AM4 is pretty much dead at the moment. I just bought a 5800x and 6900xt like 2 weeks ago. I don't regret it at all. Okay, I lie. I regret the GPU, but not the CPU / motherboard. Had I known another week I could've bought a 6950XT, I'd have waited one week.
  17. Doesn't DLSS operate like FSR does for AMD, in the sense that it lowers the resolution during the gameplay / bench? Wouldn't it be more accurate to disable DLSS for the Nvidia cards since the AMD is doing actual native res? I'm pretty happy with my 6900XT outside of a few RT titles at my native res. And even those RT titles, I can get them playable in freesync range with FSR or RSR. Which.....appears to be similar with Nvidia's DLSS anyway, so I'm fine with that.
  18. I just bought a 5800x and 6900XT, and now we're already looking at Ryzen 7000 series and RX 7000 GPU's??? -_- Sidenote, when will we see Michaelangelo, Donatello, and Leonardo GPU's? C'mon AMD, let's make TMNT codenames for a while!
  19. Nothing wrong with being "that" guy. That's a pretty neat find. Not sure I'd say valuable, but definitely a neat score. You don't see a 5770 every day anymore. Those 80GB HDD's could prove to be useful if someone was wanting to build an old rig too, since older OS's had a lower HDD limit. I think 98 only works on upwards of 128GB HDD's or smaller I believe it was? Assuming the drives work of course. I have to admit, even though I most definitely don't want a 5770.....the artwork they used to put on GPU's back in those days was phenomenal and I really miss our cute gamer girls and epic warriors printed on our GPU's.
  20. Mining =/= Folding mate. I've got a few cards going on each. Got my 290x going on folding@home since it makes decent PPD. I think i'm currently top AMD card on the team right now with that 290x. Have a few 580's and my old 5700XT going on mining, and I dump a few bucks here and there into my wallets.
  21. I'll be busy stacking and buying more while its cheap cheap. I don't care if I "lost" $10 or $10k right now, I treat it like an investment. If it tanks then it tanks, whatever. But I'm holding out for crypto to buy me a house. Had the market not collapsed, it would have.....seriously. I had enough a few weeks ago to fully pay my down and closing costs. Now, not so much. Anybody reading my comments, please make note I am NOT a financial advisor. Please speak with yours before making any stupid decisions.
  22. Buy buy buy!!!!!! Seriously though, I really doubt that its going to disappear or anything. This has happened so many times before already. I'm not falling for it again. It'll be back up on the next bull market.
  23. With a full f@h load on it right now, I'm doing 206w, 58*C, and 2900-3k RPM. On my 6900XT MSI card. Using AIDA64 to monitor. Stock everything in drivers except a custom fan profile (and game stuff but that doesn't affect stability).
  24. FSR works amazingly well on my 6900XT with Cyberpunk at 5120x1440. I look forward to this. RSR works surprisingly well too, and that works with every title. Seems both sides of the camp are actually helping gamers out lately with these new features.
