    Howdy yall

Hey there JDQ! Enjoy your stay. Lots of good information here.
  2. Alright, the bug has been resolved. New user confirmation emails are now fixed!
  3. I think I'm settling in around 1.15v SoC myself, and yeah that's exactly the issue I was thinking of. Glad it was resolved. Then yeah, this looks like a pretty nice board option. I might look at trying to find one later on for the 9000 series build I do when the next gen comes out. Just upgraded to a 7800x3d, so I'll probably be quite happy for a while.
  4. Not a bad looking board. I'm not a huge fan of the huge fan on it, but having a DDR5 system, I can certainly understand the need. I wonder if they've fixed the SoC overvolt issues that Asus boards apparently were reportedly having? I was reading some forums where Asus boards are ruining things with that, like 1.35-1.40v overvolts on SoC.
  5. We are aware of new users not receiving confirmation emails. This is a bug from the site ownership transfer. We are working on a fix for this. Enterprise is also going above and beyond in helping us through this transition, he's more aware of where the problem lies at this point since we're just getting the logins today. There is a fix, it's being worked on. Please accept our apologies to any new members, it will be fixed soon. Thank you for understanding. ~Management
  6. The Etsy shop will continue, no worries there. Might take us a bit to get everything back going, but we're getting there slowly. There's strict rules at Etsy, that's why that wasn't transferred. We will be getting that back up, the donations button working again, and the site is going to continue AS IS for a while.....while we transition and figure all this new stuff out. We're also already partnered with a few youtubers as well, that might be popping in to help as well, depending on their skill levels and such.
  7. If you don't mind of course. It's all going to the cause anyway, but if we're going to continue the site - the folding stuff is still all there.
  8. Thank you @ENTERPRISE. It is our pleasure to continue the site, we can't let the place die. It needs to continue going as expected, and grow. So let's see if we can't make that happen within a year or two.

    Red vs. Blue

    That 7990 though.......
  10. Been watching it. Seems like 2025 could be fun!
  11. I see the folding team already jumped ship to TPU. I could offer some prizes for the first go round to bring some back. I don't think I could keep that going though, but I can get it going the first time though.
  12. Question is...... Who wants to see it happen? I'll buy it right now (assuming price is negotable), if we can just get the OG's to come back and hang out and share what they were doing again. Keep the hwbot team going, keep the folding stuff going, get the reviews going back up again. Once profit comes through, maybe offer prizes again. I don't want to see what we've worked so hard all these years to end. It might take me a bit of time to figure out everything E was doing, but I'd love nothing more than to see, I don't know 6 months or 1 year ago activity back. I don't think that's asking much. I think there's tons of room for improvement here, and I think with the base group of folks that were here.....we can do it. What's everybody say? I can't run the site all by myself, put content, post news, etc all by myself afterall. But I'll do my best to make the changes EHW needs to keep going and TRY my best to drum up more membership as well as new owner. I honestly do see the value in a place like this, and I don't think it needs much change at all to become more successful. I have no problem making this my 9-5 if I have help to do so.
  13. PM'ed again E (well....on discord). Sigh, I might not know the first thing about web site running, but turns out I will be needing a website anyway, similar to this one. Similar freaking name even. Sigh, time to research and get out the wallet maybe. I'm still researching and trying to learn what all this extra crap is that you're paying for, and what all I need to learn to make this happen and be successful. Definitely don't want to just purchase, and then be stuck with a dead site that I can't do anything with because I'm stupid. EDIT: Nobody hold me to this. I'll repeat, I don't even really know HTML coding. But I can't just sit by and let this happen, when I'm going to be needing a site this year anyway that's similar.....and we've ALL already put so much effort in here. Just yeah. I'm overwhelmed still and thinking.
  14. This was certainly unexpected. I certainly hope nothing but the best for you E, and I just hope you at LEAST try to keep in contact with all of your pals. Pop into a discord group with everyone, something, let us know you're still alright. It's not like we haven't (most of us) been together for decades at this point anyway right? We'll ALWAYS be OCN'ers at heart and EHW members to the death of the site.
  15. Thank you. Sorry, I was out of town and just got this notification when I got back lol.
  16. That was kind of my thinking with this board too. I love the look of it too (I got the Taupe color). So far, I've been pretty happy with the switches on this board. It's a weird feeling coming from the super clicky boards that I normally love. I might look at swapping the switches out on it later of course. I have admittedly been accidentally typing some keys multiple times on accident due to the low actuation force needed on this board. However, when I'm actually on my game for typing.....it seems like I can type twice as fast on this board for some reason over the clickier boards. Idk, might just be in my head too lol.
  17. So I have quite a few new mechanical boards. I'm not really sure what the switches are on any of them though, most are cheap "junk" off Amazon that I'm scoring for reviews lol. Here's my current favorite keyboard. Honestly I dislike linear switches, but this board almost feels like I'm typing on a rubber dome. It's a really weird sensation coming from MX Blue and Kalith Blue switches. ilovbee - 60% with Linear Aster Switches (did I say it right? LOL) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0D1XLXGBK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  18. I'm very much against the 12VHPWR connector, and well.......this is why. Sorry you burned up another PSU. Hopefully this one won't burn down, right? @J7SC_Orion has a lot more experience with the 4090 and that 12vhpwr connector. I'd be heeding his advice and regularly checking those connections. If I'm not mistaken (I could be), the 12vhpwr plug DOES in fact have a limited number of times you can plug and unplug it before the connector is deemed broken. I've heard there's similar "restrictions" on 6/8pin PCIe plugs, however I've never seen that restriction put into PSU warranty and user guides, nor have I seen that limitation tied to a cable like the PSU manufacturers have been doing with the 12vhpwr cables. But every, EVERY modern PSU I've bought or received for review lately, has giant lettering stating there's something like 20 insertions for that plug and that's it. I sincerely hope you get it all sorted out and stop having problems bro. If that was MY CARD, I'd be putting stock vbios on it and run the thing at stock, to avoid future melting incidents. I still want a 4090 eventually, but I get the feeling by the time those cards are down in the budget ebay categories, there probably won't be any left. -_-
  19. Anybody see any good co-op capable (even with mods) games, please let me know and post it here. So far, I haven't seen much on the Steam sale that's of any interest to me yet.

    6900 XT vs 7900 XT

My experience was quite the opposite with my 6900XT. Mine is an MSI design, which uses direct touch heatpipe cooling. As such, there's too many gaps I think on the die, which results in waaay higher hotspot temps. That's my theory, because cards that seem to have a solid coldplate APPEAR to do better with hotspot temperatures. My card has been repasted with PTM7950, and used putty in place of the pads. It helped, but my hotspot is STILL hitting 95*C and there's nothing I can do short of lowering the power limit on the card to like -15% or something. Core hardly ever even breaks 50*C. So if you're stuck to using the stock cooler, look for teardown reviews and make sure its got a solid coldplate first on the cooler. If you're planning on aftermarket cooling it, by all means they should all be pretty fair game I'd imagine then (depending on the cooling method / block of choice). They really are GREAT cards, I run mine 1440p for game recording all the time.
