My crazy month is starting to wind down.  We've been fairly consistent this month, and were right in the mix until that integrated AMD GPU came along.  I also have a 3200G. 🤔

I sure would like to see what you can get out of yours 🙂

Right now it's serving temp duty as my HTPC and file server.  I can probably get a few results over the next couple of days.  The results will be in Linux, so it should be a nice comparison to see what is possible with these little chips. 👍

@damric  I might need to tweak a few things on my 3200g.  Do you know what you're average TPF is on p18201?

Right now, at bone stock, it doesn't look like I'll complete this WU on time.

*Edit*

Just looked at the LARS info for that unit, and it looks like it averages about 6 days to finish that unit.

On 18201 I am getting 16 minutes 53 seconds. I'll have some time tomorrow to walk you through how to tune it up.

Thanks for the info.  I was just looking for a bit of a baseline.

As far as tuning the 3200, I've messed around with a number of AMD APUs, so I should be good.  I will hit you up if I hit a wall. 👍

*Edit*

It will finish a p18201 in plenty of time. I just had to wait for a few frames to get a proper TPF.

I will be temping in the AMD slot with a Radeon VII.  It's not a great card for the ETF.  The average ppd is quite a bit lower than what it used to be, but it was the easiest thing for me to get up and running in a short amount of time.  I do have the OC pretty much as high as you can possibly go outside of sub-ambient cooling.  Right now it is clocked at 2125core and 1225mem, and running on modified Power Play Tables to get those clocks stable.

Run HFM to log your work units since the site won't allow me to add you in. I can add up the total on your log and use it once the site comes back up for me.

I'll shoot you the log for that machine once the stats site is back up.  The only thing running F@H on that machine is the Radeon VII, so it's easy enough to track any missed units.

Eat your heart out @BWG Broke the 1000MHz barrier. Seriously though, I need help @tictoc. No matter how hard I try, I can't get the card to use more than 70% TDP. I have tried manually setting higher voltages and increasing base TDP through Keplar Tweaker to no avail. Maybe you and I can get together this weekend if you have time Greg and do some modding.

There are 4 entries in power table tab. I am quite sure #2 is board power, and #4 is Power cap as 111% is max. 1.png.ecc75da560375888d5fce853a8b750dc.png

Yes, well partially modded. The card is rated 122w TDP and gets power from a single 6 pin and the MOBO so 150w in theory. It rarely uses more than 100w. Even if I could get the the card to just use its TDP of 122w, I would be happy. I have modded the voltage and the power table you see above. There is no clear way of knowing which of the 4 is for what because it's not labeled.

I think I might have to modify the Def range, though I can't find what that abbreviation stands for.

It has been quite some time since I modded a Keplar BIOS. 🙂 You will need to edit the Def table value.  I'll have to grab a copy of the BIOS to poke at it to try and figure out which table is which.  For starters the second table looks like PCIe power, so bump the PCIe rail Def up to 75000, flash and then see what the results are.  Looking at your first post, and the fact that you are only hitting 70% of TDP, I suspect the third table is the Power Target.  I would slowly bump up the Def value there, and test to see what the results are.

-EDIT-

Def is just short for Default 😉

Inadvertent double. Accidentally quoted myself on my phone when I meant edit. 🙂

So success! Finally pushing 90's on TDP, I have been hitting 74w on the 6 pin and think I might just be able to get the card past 1100Mhz. That is a 58% OC!

Nice.  I bet there is still some headroom to push it even a bit higher.

I would personally be comfortable pushing 100W on the 6-pin connector, since I doubt you're running a cheapo PSU with 20 gauge wires.  The GPU should certainly have no problem handling a bit more power with half way decent cooling.

Worth a shot. You have your work cut out for you. 1176MHz held over night, 1200MHz failed a few WU's. So your target is to beat a 68% OC.

Deal. Bet you can't do it without help, so you'll end up having to share the wings with me. Let me know when you are ready to mod the vBIOS and i'll help you out.

Finally finished the work unit it was chewing on so I could flash and do a quick test. Switched over to the 960 in ETF. I remember everything from when I modded my TC GTX 770 back in the day. I won the cat a few times with that thing.

Just a quick test on a light load to make sure it all works. Man, you should hear this fan at 100%. It's real loud!!

So this is roughly where you can get while still not failing WU's. I am very pleased. GL Greg, let me know if you need help.

That's a monster.

You inspired me to order a cheap firepro. Supposed to be firmware locked to overclocking but I'm going to try anyway. I'm thinking 80-100% OC will be possible if I can crack it.

Also your BIOS mods might help Michele's GTX 750 which has a similar issue where it doesn't like to use it's full TDP and just sips along at 30W instead of using the full 75 or whatever. I really have no idea how to use those tools. The last Nvidia firmware mod I did was over a decade ago to morph an 8800GT into a Quadro FX 1700.

More than happy to help you mod that 750. Let me know when you are free and we can link up over Discord video. Create a file of the original vBIOS via GPU-z and save it and send it to me.
