Go into your PayPal and cancel the payment for the prior recurring subscription you setup for the donations (not your premium account as that is different). Then your set

Furthermore I have completed our Site Donor user award. This will be assigned to all current and future donors as a small token of our appreciation. The last couple of weeks have been super busy at work as im the only one in the department due to a member if staff leaving. I have been a little zapped haha

So far as Donations vs Costs, What I can say is we are in a better place. I have not said down though and done the math to see where we are but I will and will let everyone know

Looks like migration went pretty fast, smoothly.

I was a little bummed earlier when the site was down, glad to see the migration happened so quickly and smoothly! Down time really wasn't that bad at all really. 

 

Keep us posted E. I think it's absolutely awesome that we all want this little space on the internet to stay alive. Gives me at least some hope for the future of enthusiasts.

Hello all, 

 

We had a small hiccup with a major platform upgrade. However this has now been fixed bar a few smaller tweaks. Please note that if you see anything odd at all, please come back to me and I can have it fixed. 

 

Our site index is also rebuilding, so performance will be a little slower and counters for things like unread comments, messages etc may not appear true for a while until the index finishes rebuilding.

Just curious here, but I noticed a small glitch yesterday on mobile, where the menu button on the top left for notifications wasn't working.  I'd tap it, the site would go darker, but the menu would never come up.  It could've been my end, and I fixed it by switching to desktop mode temporarily.  Very easily could've been a hiccup due to the move yesterday too, I haven't tested it again yet today.

 

Edit:  Yeah it's all fixed today so must've been a glitch with the move yesterday.

I appreciate the follow-up. Since my last update where we undertook some cost cutting measures we are in a better place, most of which is helped by our generous donors. 

 

With site development having reached maturity, it helps that outgoings on software development has slowed down which helps with costs. I would never say it has stopped as there will always be the occasional cost of fixing or improving something, but these are occasional and is no great thing. 

 

As per the 2023 Plan, the focus is on site promotion as opposed to building. With the changes in making the forum the forefront of EHW, this should help. Once the switch around is completed, my aim is to then have a Google Ads person help me with launching the Ads on the site to further generate revenue.  With said revenue, at "Some point" likely towards the end of 2023 I would like to re-look into some low cost SEO to further promote the site.

 

Anything left over I would like to put into our current running competitions as prizing, hopefully with site promotion and with the Ads launched, this will further help in running costs as well as increasing prize values.
