nah dude, we're a closer community than OCN i think. coming here as a group made us realize who were really the ones who mattered over there.

 

we're proud of our friendships, community, and im sure just like me, all of the other content creator guys are absolutely proud of the content we created on here. this place is truly special to us.

 

non replaceable, non refundable, exceeds monetary value to all of us. the community coming together here. symbolized something that forums used to be back in the day. a set of people who will do anything to help eachother achieve what needs to be done.

 

the next thing in line we have to arrange at some point. is our first LAN event. and fly @ENTERPRISE and @Bastiaan_NL and anyone else overseas who want to come. over here for the event.

 

but that comes after this, and any other stepping stones we must climb as a community.

 

and yeah i may be crazy and nostalgic, the old man ive become. lol

I've been reading along, as I had no idea what to say. Good to see that everyone is ready to help out, and I've added a subscription too.

Not sure about a LAN event though, I can't mute anyone there

So here is an idea @ENTERPRISE. If you still have connections with any HW companies, try to get more product. We can then sell the product after reviews. I am 100% ok with that.

Well intentioned ^^ thought for sure - though as a long time viewer of tech youtubers, a tech youtuber myself, and a person who put forth an honest offer to put my hat in the ring here so-to-speak, I would advise against that for many reasons. To sum it up, I don't believe that's what review samples are meant for.

I looked, but didn't see any buttons or links for the new recurring payments on that page. I did see the link to the one time payment; is that what we're supposed to use for the time being?

I do see those subsections, just no link in them that takes me to a means of establishing recurring monthly payments.

 

I do see the If you wish to make a one off donation. Please kindly donate HERE instead. That "Here" is also the only link in each of those new subsections.

Weird. Worked fine for me. I did the $50 one.

 

Edit: I just went to look again and I see what you mean. I wonder if something broke today after I was able to do it this morning.

Strange the button is not coming up as was fine yesterday. Let me check in on this and come back to you.

So it looks like "Subscriptions", you cannot have multiple of. 

 

So I have now changed it so that a user can have a subscription and a donations. Users who have already donated via subscriptions,. Next month, if you would like to create a recurring donation, please select one of our donation products from here : https://forums.extremehw.net/store/ . For those who have donated already, I have cancelled its reoccurrence (However those who used PayPal, please be sure to login your end and cancel the purchase under the Automatic Payments section). so that when you donate using the new donation products, you will not get pinged twice a month. 

 

Apologies for any confusion. If you have a problem donating using the new products, please let me know.

In further news we will be migrating to a VPS server in order to keep costs realistic at around £70 per month (rather than £180). I am hoping to do this next month as the migration costs are not doable this month, but not long to go. If anyone is wondering, there are migration costs as I use a server contractor to do this, who takes care of the sites and all of there related services. It will go far more smoothly going this route. Eating an initial cost, but will put us in a much better place moving forward!

Good news, my server admin has been kind enough to migrate us to the new server (To be purchased tomorrow) and for the fees to be deferred. This allows us to get underway sooner

I missed this thread when it started, but from catching up just now, it's great to see this community pull together so well, and you guys have done a great job of finding solutions and ways to make the gears of EHW turn more smoothly. I just signed up, glad to help in the little way I can.  I have been using this community (here and OCN) for almost 20 years now and have learned so much.  Intangibles are worth a few less coffees a month.

I don't really have any thing special.  I think I have a 4690k, 8700k lying around.  I have most of the components needed to build out a 8700k rig.  I also have a 980Ti sitting around.

Oh hell yes. I'll get with @bwalker36and make this happen. I'm thinking for next month's foldathon, and maybe we can scrape up even more for that. Speaking of which, I conformed with @axipher that this month's foldathon, which I will announce soon. Tt's going to be June 25th at 0000.

My understanding is if you want to keep your premium membership and donate  you need to sign up for both, A Premium membership and monthly donation.  You can't have two Premium subs so it had to be split between those and donations.
