ATTENTION Extreme Team Folding Participants: Please make sure you do not fold anything under your ETF GPU Passkey except for the GPU you are participating in the event with. You need to use a 2nd passkey to fold anything else in this event.

 

In the spirit of folding for the cause and good old friendly competition between members, we are hosting another folding competition. For more details please see below.

 

How to participate:

During the competition you must be folding for Team 239902
You must post in this thread with "IN" followed by your folding username.

All "Folding Time" prizes will require your username/passkey to be given to the donator, this will not give them any of your personal information, it just let's them be able to contribute full points to your username.  Passkeys need at least 10 full Work Units to start getting the full Quick Return Bonus.  Alternatively, you could setup another passkey for your Folding@Home username with a different email address and fold your first 10 units on that.  This would still put the points towards your username, but they would also be tracked by a different passkey.

Please note all winners must claim within 30 days from announcement of the winners.

So we will have 3 prizes, with the winners chosen at random from those who compete and have at least 10 WUs completed.  We will draw 1-3 and they can pick the prize they want in order, number 3 doesn't get a choice :).  It probably goes without saying but I will not be in the drawing for prizes as I don't want this stuff anymore lol. 

 

1. Gigabyte 980 Ti Gaming G1, Custom Bios, was just taken apart and repasted with new fans.  If I remember correctly I was able to get ovet 1510 core on this guy.
2. 8700k, Asus Tachi, 16gb ram, I could hit 4.8 with ease on this guy and board combo I'm sure someone better at tweaking could hit 5ghz.

About 2.5 hours until event start. I've not heard from @axipher so hopefully either the database above will be working or he does the manual updates. I know he's got a lot of stuff going on so everyone be patient please.

IN as Minotaurtoo  Temps outside cooled down a bit so I figured I'd join in, may have to tone it down a bit or even turn off FAH for a bit if it gets too hot... as such if you want to exclude me from prizes, by all means do... I really don't need them anyway and would rather see someone who needs them get it.

That was short lived I'm out, had to RMA my 3080, Fan 1 and 3 started doing some buzzing/rattling noise independent of fan speed, went away if you held a finger againts it. 1 week old card though so the retailer should get me another

Yeah something wrong with the fan or pwm controller signal. It's good that you are sending it back

well so far I've discovered that my undervolt on the gpu isn't 100% stable, but otherwise so far so good.... here's looking at the finish line.  This winter I'll be back to folding as normal, for the heat.

I'll definitely fold more when it's colder out. It's hard enough to keep the house cool in the summer without a bunch of PCs dumping extra heat into the room... Need to slip a folding rig or two into the server room at work

well as the finish line is approaching I've started getting some nice work units and my ppd estimations have been holding at 5mil +, way better than with the old drivers.  Surprisingly the cooler than normal temps outside held long enough for me to make it the whole time.
