No, its ranked based on how many people per team actually contributed submissions. Higher ranked teams probably have more subs. I'm not sure if they then average out the times or what, but if you got one team with 2 subs and one team with 1 sub, the 2 sub team ranks better usually.

It looks like you can run two categories

https://hwbot.org/competition/TC2023AMD/stage/5689_y-cruncher_-_pi-2.5b_-_benchmate_-_ddr5_-_4_subs

and

https://hwbot.org/competition/TC2023MEM/stage/5699_y-cruncher_-_pi-2.5b_with_benchmate_-_ddr4_-_3_subs

Read the fine print. I'm sure Bastiaan and Avacado will inspect it to make sure but don't feel bad if you mess it up and have to do it again. They are very picky.

I was planning to do the 5900x as well, but remember @damric that you can't just disable your 5950x to 4 cores and run it, you need an actual 4 core Ryzen 3300g or 5300g or whatever.

Thanks for the help though guys and I'll be sure to do my sub right so Captains don't need to remove it. (hopefully)

Edit: also checked and saw I have until September 15th.

I made a $40 bid for a ryzen 3 4100. They are new for about $60. I don't think it's wise to pay that much or for the 5300G. They are asking too much for those quad cores.

So I tried y-cruncher and realized my 50 sec time was with the chip boosting to 5125MHz, and there's a 5008MHz limitation. I could probably do PBO +50 and stay under the limitation (remember I have an X3D so no ratio control), but I'm pretty sure my time would be above 1 minute. If I submit that, it will raise the average time because currently Flux has a 55 sec sub and Bastiaan has 1 min 3 sec sub.

So I'm not doing it as I am pretty sure my sub would be detrimental to the team.

For the team challenge, a weak sub is much much better than no sub at all. If someone afterwards has a better sub yours won't be counted so please at least try. Your best bet for the clock frequency is just lock in all cores to a set multiplier. It can certainly be less. My 5950X I only sub'd at 4GHz because of the heat but it was still a descent score. What weighs the heaviest is our team getting all of the categories filled and we still have a lot of holes.

that is why i sold the 'regular' B650 mobo to get one with a baseclock generator so you can set a multiplier of 50. really annoying i couldnt get a legit score without 'cheating' in benchmate.

Just sub it. Having more subs matters more than good subs. If someone posts something better it will just replace the weaker scores. Fun fact, the clockspeed limit was 5005 initially and my sub was thrown out for being 5007. Was able to resubmit it after they raised the limit.  😂

My strategy was to just run through and just knock out a bunch of subs early to get points on the board. If I have time later, I'll circle back and get better scores.

The benchmark to me looks like it is currently being rated and scored based on the highest time at the link I posted, not the lowest? Currently people with the longest timed scores are getting the most points. In that case, because my chip effing sucks, I can post a score of about 50 sec. Though looking at the current subs we have for this category/stage, Flux's score is 55 secs so maybe I'm wrong.

This is a good question and is indeed confusing. This is a 4 sub category and the "Higher" score you are seeing is an AVERAGE of all 4 subs COMBINED. This is why it appears as the higher scores are better than the lower ones. You definitely want a lower score to help the team AVERAGE. Hope this helps!

Four stock runs would beat a team that only did three XOC results.

This is true. Teams can have more members submit than the category specifies and the best results will count. You should always sub what you have, even if all subs for a category have been completed. The reason is that if a sub gets removed for ANY reason, that extra sub can automatically fill the removed sub slot.

No subs are detrimental to this team. Participation to strengthen this family is the goal for every TC. All who are registered members on this site have the right to participate and enjoy themselves if they choose. As long as I am here, this will remain true.

25Kg of dry-ice on the way. I hope that's enough to get something to work properly and get a decent score 😂
Sadly @server075 can't make it, so I have to do this alone.

@neurotix even if it seems like your score doesn't count towards the total, it's always good to have a backup subbed. We've seen in the past that some results get deleted when there are mistakes made, and even after checking everything several times we still don't see everything. Your score would be the next one to count and make a big difference in the points total.
Besides that, I think it's fun to try different hardware for a sub or two.

Any room for a 11900k / 10900 (non k) / 4790k / FX-9590 to be useful here?

Looks like my 290X may be useful and I also have a socket 939 opteron 180 and a 1gb of DDR1 c2 500mhz (2x 512mb).  Unfortunately the board I have for it won't oc so it's probably not going to do much good.  Also have my GF4 ti4200 128mb card I can fire up.

Ironically my biggest issues that I only have .iso's and keys for Windows 10 / 11..  Haven't ran any retro system in years.
