hi guys

 

Still having an issue with CPU not loading up on all my threads. See below. 

It's clearly only hitting one CPU but the contradiction is that I'm seeing a 289 watt number (which normally indicates both CPUs are maxed out. But yet when I open core temp, I'm only getting heavy loads on CPU#0. See below as CPU#0 has fully come online but CPU#1 is just essentially idling there. Which is why I cannot figure out why core temp is reporting 290 watts.

Every time I go to advanced control and hit configure, I see where you can change the number of threads.

 

However, even If I change that it goes back to the original value (which is let the client decide).

If no one can help, I'll see if I can remote into your PC tomorrow. I've never dealt with dual CPU boards so I could do as much harm as good but I really want it to work for you.

No, task manager is showing this regardless of how I have my slots set up:

 

 

Although my power level in HWMonitor is showing 290 watts, which is the limit when both CPUs are maxed out. So I don't know what to believe anymore. lol

The 2080 is back up. Its found a new home in my SRB (Second Ryzen Build). Trying to rebuild my fleet. The Sandy bridge fleet has been outstanding but the Ryzens are amazing. Putting together the TRB (Third Ryzen Build) for the 5700XT. It would not fit on the B550 board. Came in contact with the headers on the bottom. Last but not least finally scored a reference 6800XT. Might try a folding day on it just to see what it will do. Folding has shown me the Matrexx case sucks. Might have to install in another case. Temps for 2080 are way higher.

 

 

SRB- 5800x, Gigabyte B550M wifi, 32 GB Teamgroup CL 16 3600 DDR4, Intel 1TB M.2, RTX 2080 EVGA Black, Coolermaster 240mm AIO, Deepcool Matrexx 50. Deepcool 750 ps.

all i can say to this is oof.

 

i remember  when 6850s put out better points. the only upside is the low power draw i guess. and the fact that it only needs 45% fan to be silent and fold at 52C

 

 

wish i could afford one better single card to fold on but points! 

 

i also think im folding on the wrong core, forgot all the parameters to force specific cores.

Not sure what you mean. Are you talking about OpenCL/CUDA/Vulkan? 

 

AFAIK, OpenCL is all you can run.

It appears the addition of the 3070 Ti has helped me blast through yet another milestone, 5 B for EHW.

 

I've said it many times before, and I'll say it yet again: I'm still not used to how quickly points can build up these days.

And I agree, it still feels unreal how quickly I gathered my points. Nowadays my 3070Ti is the only card online, and I hate the noise it makes in my bedroom

I was wondering why my fans were so loud for the past couple of days.  I've been folding without realizing it.  So.....I've added some points to the team...even while playing Cyberpunk and having Clicker Heroes and Cookie Clicker running windowed.

Well, it's been a while since I gave an update, but I thought I'd go ahead and let you know how things are going with my family. I lost my Mother this past Sunday, and her funeral is today.

 

My Brother-in-law is near the end of his stage 4 battle with cancer. No more chemo can be done, and his underlying conditions do not make him a good fit for new treatments. He is likely going to hospice soon.

 

My Step-Mother is doing a bit better after discovering 3 heart blockages she had emergency heart surgery to fix, but she's still losing her memory.

 

So, not a very good time lately, but I am doing good. I am handling it ok. We're blessed. I appreciate all of your support. I hope the forum lives on.

 

@ENTERPRISEI hope your situation improves soon. Thinking of you!
