Came here to simply see if you had ublock which is the only thing I run these days... I'll keep an eye on this thread.

That said, does Adblock Plus not interfere with ublock or cause unnecessary slow downs?

I haven't tested just running one or the other, but both work in tandem just fine.

When YouTube started the anti-adblock tirade I had to update both almost daily or it'd break and give me a warning, but I haven't had any issues otherwise.

Running FF with ublock origin. I use Pihole on a home NAS box for youtube ad blocking before it reaches my browser. Haven't seen an ad in years with this combo.

I'm running PiHole too (one on a RPi 4 and a 2nd virtualized in Hyper-V) but I only use it for my phone and the 2 SmartTVs on my network.

It's next to useless for YouTube adblocking though. I assume UBlock Orgin is doing all the heavy lifting in your situation 🙃

Nice, I didn't know Enhancer for YouTube was available for Chrome now. I have it on Waterfox, but I've been using Improve YouTube! on Vivaldi/Brave. Enhancer is much better. My favorite feature is the finer playback speed, since 1.25x is usually not fast enough and 1.5x is too fast.

This is a native Firefox feature, but I was glad an extension exists for Chrome as well:

I rarely watch YouTube on my phone but when I do it watch through Firefox and I don't get any ads just using uBlock Origin + ADP. I haven't tested PiHole solo on my phone but it doesn't work for blocking ads on either of my SmartTVs so I kinda assumed it wouldn't.

Ublock Origin is a must, I put it on every computer I touch.

NoScript is for power users.  It's on all my personal computers and phone.  It takes a while to get used to, but once setup for common webpages, it's easy to forget about.  It really helps cut down the bloat that a lot of webpages have.

PrivacyBadger, helps stop mass tracking like google and facebook, but it's largly redundent with NoScript because I don't let those sources run on their own.

HTTPS everywhere.  I used to use, but it seems like this function is largly baked into Firefox now.

Firefox with Ublock Origin, Ghostery, NoScript, Privacy Badger, YouTube High Definition, HTTPS everywhere, and CanvasBlocker. On Linux. Also went to about:config and searched Media Peer and there's a setting called MediaPeerConnection and you need to disable it. Otherwise you can possibly be tracked on a VPN. I get warned sometimes about cross-site scripting or data leaks between pages. I think it's a pretty hardened browser. I use the same setup on my phone as well.

I'm weird I guess.  I just run the Brave Browser, the way it comes out of the box.  🤷‍♂️

I do have adblocking enabled, however my adblock is network wide, not browser extensions.  I don't really NEED any browser extensions. 🙂

This is exactly what I use... no youtube ads ever.  So far my Brave browser has blocked over 1.8 million trackers, and saved me over 25 hours of time.  This is over several years of use.

Yeah pretty cool seeing how much time you save, and actually AMAZING how much tracking goes on without you knowing about it.

I'm just glad to no longer see BS sponsors like BetterHelp and Masterworks. Some scammers had to occupy Established Titles and Kamikoto Knives' vacated places in the porta-potty though. I regret not using SponsorBlock sooner.

I also have more appreciation for channels that either self-sponsor or are entirely funded through Patreon supporters.
