I purchased an Ergo chair about a year ago from Branch. The chair is excellent quality but their customer service… needs some work. They’re usually around $300 USD. I would recommend if you’re OK with the lead times.

Overview Designed in Italy and featuring eight points of adjustment, the Branch...

On topic: I don’t typically buy collectors editions because I am not a fan of statues or figurines but given how much I loved Breath of the Wild, I figured I shouldn’t miss out on collectors for Tears of the Kingdom.

Seems pretty solid for $300.

100% agree. I've used the Leap at 2 offices now which is how I knew it was what I wanted when the time came. Likewise have used quite a few from POS generic chairs, to the Aeron (not my favorite personally), and the absolute worst chair I've ever had the displeasure to use, the Knoll Generation at one job which I would describe as the worst job ever.

Your post reminds me that I need to look for a new carpet chair mat. My last one, the edges kept curling up so I sent it back.

...thanks for the reminder on the carpet chair mat 👍  I bought a new one but had it in the back of the SUV for almost a year 🤪; finally brought it up yesterday and replaced the old one (which was the clear plastic type)...

Scored for $8.99 at the thrift store.  No idea what it even is.  I thought maybe an external CD copier, but there's no buttons other than a power button.  No connections either, except a power connection.  I'm stumped.  But its beige. 🙂

Yeah it actually was a CD copier device from the 1990's.  The IDE cable plugs into a little motherboard inside, and into the 2 CD drives.  You turn it on, there's a POST beep that comes from it.  You then pop a blank in the writer and your source in the top drive, and once both drives are populated it begins the copy process on its own.  Another loud beep from the PC speaker when its done, and your copy pops out.

It was kind of neat.  It was worth $9 just to say I tried it once.  🤣

New Vegas is both good and bad.

It definitely has a nuanced main plot with a lot of grey choices, which was refreshing for the time. Not just good / bad.

The game also is catered towards gun enthusiasts. You can build your own ammunition with a press, load powder, change bullet types, collect shells etc.

I’ve played it all the way through on Xbox 360 and while the quantity of performance/ glitches were high, PC bugs were even worse from my experience. If Oblivion / Skyrim / Fallout 3 are too janky for you, NV is on a whole other level.

Just remember to save frequently because you will clip, the game will crash, and you’re bound to run into a LOT of jank.

I remember one of the NPCs in the intro, I think it’s the doctor when you spec up… his head was rotating in a clockwise motion. It’s engraved in my mind.

P.S. Of course it’s on Youtube 🙂

Nice! Hope it plays well in 2023 with those patches or “mods”. There are probably a ton of mods that will really smooth out the experience now that I am thinking about it…

This one was actually good. Its got the Bethesda engine jank (plays like FO3 and Oblivion), however the developers were Obsidian, not Bethesda. It's a good game.

I've been buying all sorts of random PC parts lately, but one of the things I'm more exited about is the new receiver for my home theater. A while back the main HDMI out port on my Denon receiver died. The 2nd HDMI out still works, but only had eARC on the primary which I need for my setup. I reverted back to an older receiver that lacked Atmos, DTS:X etc for the time being.

Recently got a deal on a Sony STR-AN1000. I've now had it installed the past couple weekends and I've been loving it. Atmos content feels more accurate than the Denon and it also has 360 Spatial Sound which I didn't have before.

I found the Aeron generally unremarkable. All the ones I've ever sat in were fine unless they were damaged or broken, but I never could get them dialed in perfectly.

I just looked up the Knoll Generation. Looks like a love it or hate it proposition. The shape of the back is pretty insane. I also have concerns about the completely foldable upper back. It looks like if it doesn't conform to your body (or more accurately, the other way around) perfectly, it's not going to be a comfortable fit at all. Some people have said the armrests are the worst part of the chair, which is a nonstarter for me when the armrests on the Leap are so good.

No adjustable lumbar support on the Generation either, but it'll adjust your kidneys for you!

Aeron is, ok, I wouldn't say it's amazing.  They have a tendency to break, particularly the reclining lock pin is small and snaps off.  Their lifetime warranty doesn't help me because I bough mine used 😢

ordered a few things for my Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus: another old Westinghouse (only) fan, a Pazuzu relic from the Exorcist (just in case I need to pray to the gods someday), and an African death's-head hawkmoth (Acherontia atropos -- to replace the one that got eaten). Enjoy...

EKWB had a massive sale couple weeks ago, snatched 2x Supremacy Classic D-RGB - Nickel CPU waterblocks and 12x Classic STC 10/13 fittings for a mere 50,97 euro. AM5 and LGA1700 brackets were free. That little pump res combo i had laying around. Gonna build something in my Jonsbo D31 case, i have 2 of them. One with the LCD screen and one without. In the process of cleaning and painting some rads white 😄 One will be a LGA1700 system the other one AM5
