  1. The only thing I remember (and it's something I still forget) is that it's dangerous to work on a running pc, high speed fans can cause a lot of pain @UltraMega That's one of the biggest problems with someone working on something they don't understand, they always mess it up and have no clue what's wrong. I've been working as a car mechanic for 10 years, the s..t I've seen there was sad, frustrating and funny at the same time. Glad I left.. Someone trying fill up his engine with oil to the cap was the best one I've ever seen. We drained and measured it and it was more than double the volume, the engine ran like crap
  2. But that way there is less chance for the rest to win folding time. What if a person who donates folding time is automatically excluded from winning folding time?
  3. Nice, thanks for giving a game away! Would be funny if we have to fold for each other
  4. What is your timezone? I usually wake up at 6, and I try my best to sleep before 11pm but I rarely make that. Banned from UTC +1
  5. Nice Mistio! Don't underestimate that 2070!
  6. Nice! Any info on the lapped cpu's? Oh yeah, now I want one too!
  7. Banned for complaining about doggo's.. This one was guarding the ship today
  8. Thanks to google and a bit of luck I stumbled upon it by accident I'm sure I would have gone the same route with no other "easy" option.
  9. I would love to drink an Irish coffee... Sadly I'm on duty for the weekend, so no drinks for me Banned, for making me thirsty
  10. That's pretty awesome @Diffident! I would love to be able to 3d print whatever I need, maybe some day..
  11. That's a bugger indeed... After a good search I think I found why, the pins are soldered directly to the pcb with the plastic "connector" only as a cover and spacer. To remove them you'll have to unsolder the whole connector from the pcb. [Search for J.S.T. SJN connector for what seems to be almost the same connector]
  12. He's not willing to help me out on this one.. I will kidnap his 2080ti, let's see who wins
  13. This... So many things to do, so little time to do them
  14. Like axipher said, every bit helps! Most important thing: try to finish the units you are working on, so they are returned for the research
  15. With a bit of rum? That's even better! A steady 8.5 mil will bring us to at least 25mil ppd ? I like your plans, getting two 1070ti's running will be a nice boost as well. As for my plans, the first 2 million is an "easy" upgrade which will also be 150 watts less power draw. The other one might take a little more time, we'll see..
  16. Yeah, it's impressive! We should be able to climb about 90 positions with our average ppd now in only 2 months. But with a little more power from everyone we'll get there sooner. @Supercrumpet will soon join us again with around 8mil ppd, and who knows what some of us have planned Drinks on me when we reach #300
  17. That's a neat way to hide that PCB, looks clean! Did you manage to get the pins out of the connector?
  18. I sent a text to my brother about this, he was like: "why on earth would someone want to do that?" (he's a backend developer) We'll have to live with it I guess
  19. IN! Bastiaan_NL I hope my upgrades will be ready in time for this competition. Should be another 6 million points added to my 24 hour average @axipher The docs are looking good, thanks for all the work @Mistio If you could let that 2070 in your pc fold 24/7 for the competition it will be a lot of points!
  20. I bet your hardware will thank you for getting rid of that fur [edit] Team rank 398
  21. Driving for 10+ hours makes you listen to stuff like that Tig ol bitties The four seasons is so good! And with that much passion poured into a piece like that it's a blessing for the ears and eyes
