  1. That's pretty awesome @Diffident! I would love to be able to 3d print whatever I need, maybe some day..
  2. That's a bugger indeed... After a good search I think I found why, the pins are soldered directly to the pcb with the plastic "connector" only as a cover and spacer. To remove them you'll have to unsolder the whole connector from the pcb. [Search for J.S.T. SJN connector for what seems to be almost the same connector]
  3. He's not willing to help me out on this one.. I will kidnap his 2080ti, let's see who wins
  4. This... So many things to do, so little time to do them
  5. Like axipher said, every bit helps! Most important thing: try to finish the units you are working on, so they are returned for the research
  6. With a bit of rum? That's even better! A steady 8.5 mil will bring us to at least 25mil ppd ? I like your plans, getting two 1070ti's running will be a nice boost as well. As for my plans, the first 2 million is an "easy" upgrade which will also be 150 watts less power draw. The other one might take a little more time, we'll see..
  7. Yeah, it's impressive! We should be able to climb about 90 positions with our average ppd now in only 2 months. But with a little more power from everyone we'll get there sooner. @Supercrumpet will soon join us again with around 8mil ppd, and who knows what some of us have planned Drinks on me when we reach #300
  8. That's a neat way to hide that PCB, looks clean! Did you manage to get the pins out of the connector?
  9. I sent a text to my brother about this, he was like: "why on earth would someone want to do that?" (he's a backend developer) We'll have to live with it I guess
  10. IN! Bastiaan_NL I hope my upgrades will be ready in time for this competition. Should be another 6 million points added to my 24 hour average @axipher The docs are looking good, thanks for all the work @Mistio If you could let that 2070 in your pc fold 24/7 for the competition it will be a lot of points!
  11. I bet your hardware will thank you for getting rid of that fur [edit] Team rank 398
  12. Driving for 10+ hours makes you listen to stuff like that Tig ol bitties The four seasons is so good! And with that much passion poured into a piece like that it's a blessing for the ears and eyes
  13. Haha this is so true Nice solution for the "monitoring stuff", looks good with the drives mounted vertically!
  14. @Mistio I use Spotify as much as I can! @J7SC_Orion I did not finish the 10 hour loop one
  15. Thanks for joining @Supercrumpet Like you said it's still productive, both for F@H and EHW. That's why I like this idea so much!
  16. Yeah, thanks to axipher for bringing it up. I never thought of it and it's actually a fun thing to do! Nice work, thanks for that! ?
  17. I like this idea, just for the sake of competition How about donating my second system for a week to someone else?
  18. Happy to help That's a lot of nice stuff you've got there! I just hide as many cables as possible, but I don't think that's what you are planning to do. So good luck sleeving them all The 5 pin usb header is actually pretty simple, if you lift up that little black tab on top of the metal pin and hold it, you can pull out the cable with the pin.
  19. So the Meshify S2 came in today, and I am very happy with it! I love the design, might be the reason why this is my 5th Fractal case It's my first white case, but I have no regrets. With the black and white sleeved cables it looks pretty good, now I just have to wait for my rma'd 2080s to return and it'll be done for while That sounds like an other great deal UltraMega!
  20. I am pretty sure that the battery is safe if you are using a power cable to the wall. It is protected from overcharging, so safe to use it that way. I only unplug my laptop if I need to take it somewhere, but if I need to use it at home I use the power cable most of the time. As for that Dino PC, the GPU will fold pretty good! Around 2 times the PPD from your Razer Blade should be no problem. I have no idea what that CPU will do, but make sure you keep an extra core free for your GPU as we discussed before. You don't want to slow down that 2070
  21. Yes, that card needs some thorough cleaning. How does that pc intake clean air, from the bottom standing on the floor or on a desk?
  22. Exactly! And the more you bring the fitting away from the heatsink with a thread extender (I have the bitspower g1/4 ones in different sizes) the more room for the bends you'll create at the highest part of the tube. Nice drawing by the way, makes it easy to visualize
