  1. Yeah, comes down to a variety of factors...but the liquid used (and its multi-metal rating) is a major one. I even think this kind of rebuild / refill would work well for folks who bought the Enermax TR4 AIO which had one of the best designs (cold-plate) but a big quality problem re. gumming/'gunking' up...
  2. You won't regret it...other than may be re. your monthly electricity bill ? ...It is one of the trickiest apps I have ever set up (including when compared to HWBot quad-SLI), given that all your system components have to be tuned to work in unison for best results w/ MS FS 2020. But once you have it set up for the sweet-spot, especially on a large 4K monitor, it is breathtaking in many ways...MS FS 2020 is educational, skill-requiring / challenging and great fun all at once, depending what flights / planes you choose... Be that in a 747 banking in over a metro area... ...or a quick visit to Mt. Everest on a run-way too short for the plane you chose to go high, fast... But I always gravitate back to flights in that little Icon A5 as it allows me to explore the W.Coast of BC where I live...in the parts further North from here, it looks like a mix of the Norwegian and New Zealand. ...the Icon A5 is slow and has a limited altitude ceiling, but it can land pretty much anywhere ?
  3. ... ? ...a couple of years ago, I drove across Canada and back from the W.Coast in the late fall/early winter...in addition to older tunes such as those by Deep Purple, Pink Floyd etc, I love regular trance. But whenever I was speeding more than my regular speed premium, I would listen to s.th. like this instead to slow a bit...
  4. ...I know what you mean ...that little rocky area by the seawall looked spacious enough from above (but wasn't...)
  5. Yeah, instead of putting it off, take off (into the skies !) Also, you can play 'you sank my battle cruise ship' with it (BTW, I completely redid the 1st post in this thread and added some techie info)
  6. More 4K Ultra pics Some night flying in Alaska... Over to New York... Back home to Canada... Northern Lake Superior (still snowing ? ) Back home in BC...entering the Lower Mainland at Hope Vancouver again...
  7. 1/3rd distilled water, 2/3rds Thermaltake '1000' - not sexy, but I have very positive experience with it over multiple builds and many years...rated for multi-metal use as well
  8. ...wow - time flies ! Haven't built a machine and/or updated this thread since July ! Did some basic maintenance on the workstation yesterday, such as checking fluids for both loops (5x 360/55 rads...). Fluids look like new even after 22 months...all told, I only had to top up with 20 ml over that whole period... ...debating if / when to upgrade...but so far, no real need via new use cases...and this 'work'station has even learned how to fly ?
  9. Oh, I see ? Banned anyway for mentioning "fun fact" and "been neutered" in the same post
  10. I can picture you slotting in a 5950X in a short while in 10 sec flat, humming your fav tune...meanwhile, Iamjanco will be busy aligning his CPU-to-3647-socket with laser measuring equipment
  11. I love the TR4/x / Epyc socket mounting mechanism...never had a problem with them, easy as 1-2-3. All my bending-pins-back skills I acquired with LG2011 series are laying dormant now. But as you know, DerBauer managed to mess up a TR4/x socket accidentally a few days ago...it can be done...
  12. Hehe...but banned coz kitty here would like a word with you...
  13. banned for driving a certain EHW member's doggos to drink... (but at least it is Glenlivet 18yrs)
  14. ...testing out 'Process Lasso' which is supposed to help with smoothing out MSFS 2020 'main thread limitation' issues below...back to Canada, this time to a little place on the Lake Superior N.Coast...checking out the planes at the airport (right by the main highway), then flying into a Storm, and finally, getting some real N.Canadian weather going...
  15. That's the whole reason why I got into NVL-CFR for 2x 2080 Tis...I tend to fly really low over major metro areas (if not land with the amphibious Icon A5 on a river or bay), and the extra card works to keep fps up. Re. the aforementioned hitches in maps, that just seems to have become an issue (at least on my system) since the latest patch; worked just fine before. Anyway, a few Tokyo screenies for you to enjoy:
  16. ...update October 3rd, 2020: 'All quiet on the Western AIO rebuild Front'...it still runs 24/7, and no change whatsoever in delta temp from ambient, nor any weird noises that would indicate a potential problem
  17. That was then, this now...somewhat related to a software business, I have well over 30 active GPUs here, 3/4 of them are NVidia, most in SLI / NVL All they have done now with this mGPU / CFR hostility is for us to step back from purchasing 3090s, though the models we want aren't even available yet, anyhow. Instead, let's see what AMD RDNA2 brings, and what's what with other upcoming NVidia Ampere products, assuming they don't manage to mangle the release of those, too. NVidia just doesn't like 2x 2080 Ti in CFR getting over 70 fps in 4K / Ultra and showing up 3090, IMO....too late...
  18. ...you won't regret it...other than you'll spend way too much time on it, and then want to buy even faster hardware for 8K MS FS 2020, because the graphics are out of this world ? source
  19. ...now you can use that refund money to buy an 8-channel TR Pro 5995 WX ?
