  1. Made this quick video to try our RSR in a game that has no FSR. Looks pretty good IMO.
  2. Just a quick test of RSR on Metro Enhanced which does not have FSR support. IMO RSR works really well in Meteo, it tends work better in games with a lot of contrast.
  3. RSR is basically FSR 1.0 but at a driver level so it can be applied universally to any game. The downside to this approach is that unlike FSR, RSR will affect the UI with its scaling. FSR 2.0 will be a new and improved version of FSR that looks to be more in line with DLSS and the upcoming Intel XeSS. FSR 1.0 has no temporal component to it, but 2.0 will add that as well as other enhancements. I would guess FSR 2.0 will be much better than 1.0 while still not fully on par with DLSS, though probably close enough that the difference will be irrelevant to most gamers, and I believe FSR 2.0 will be no harder to implement in games than 1.0 from the sound of it. From what I understand about DLSS, though Nvidia talks it up a lot I don't think it's really doing anything that other modern GPUs couldn't do so it will be interesting to see what AMD can achieve without the AI cores that Nvidia likes to emphasize as so crucial to the process.
  4. let us know what u find out.
  5. Housing will be a civil rights topic in 2040 when the housing market collapses, if not sooner, to totally automated/remote work. Businesses are already struggling to keep their building investments viable. Social progress is a step ladder, with ups and downs, and that said I see this as an economic turn. The world cannot sustain and that plateau is within a 5 year prediction, my prediction... I'm just not that wizard. Actually I've learned a ton about day trading lately. It's my personal goal to get started on a robust day trading account. The more I learn about stocks, the more I lean towards day trading. That said, I think the housing market will collapse before it picks back up.
  6. On the thread pages? Can it not be on the main forum page under the latest threads/new posts/reviews and podcasts section? You have the banner on top for articles, then the main list of threads, then the video banner could under that. It would be like a banner sandwich with the banners as the bread and the thread lists as the meat. Also is it only gonna be EHW videos or would it work to have thumbnails from user submitted videos as well?
  7. Google Stadia Could Soon Find a Savior in Windows Games WWW.MSN.COM Google Stadia was slow off the starting blocks following its launch in 2019, to put it gently. The beleaguered cloud gaming service promised to usher in a new era of gaming free of expensive hardware, but like... Sounds like Google is going to try to do the same thing Valve is doing with Proton/Steam Deck. Still, I don't see this doing much to help Stadia. Of all the Streaming services, Stadia by far has the worst pricing model and that's really the main issue. No one wants to buy games at full price just for streaming.
  8. Would love to see video thumbnails on the main page if that's possible.

  10. This is actually listed in this thread: https://forums.extremehw.net/topic/1891-ukraine-war-effects-on-tech/#comment-22983
  11. Ukraine was years away from being able to join NATO. Putin setup false flag ops to try to justify the war to his own people. IMO Putin likes to paint NATO as more than a defensive pact to justify his imperialism, but unless hes completely nuts I'm sure he knows NATO would never start a conflict with anyone. NATO is just a scapegoat. Anyway, its interesting to me that so many companies are reacting to this.
  12. How are governments responding to the war in Ukraine? - Protocol WWW.PROTOCOL.COM Arming decision-makers in tech, business and public policy with the unbiased, fact-based news and analysis they need to navigate a world in rapid change. Though this kind of topic may be in the grey area of what we normally discuss here, I feel this topic is too big to ignore. As a site that hosts people of different democracies, I know everyone here supports the strong independent soul of Ukraine and it's people. Whatever happens, it's safe to say Ukraine has earned and honorable spot in the history books. This thread should serve as a place to discuss the impact of the current situation on tech related topics and current events related to the ongoing situation as it relates to topics normally discussed here. It's a tricky topic, but one that is hard to ignore in any context.
  13. I noticed the other day that Xbox Game Pass now gives the option to choose a custom folder to install games in. I could go on a long rant about how bad the issues with game installs and windows permissions were before this update... suffice to say I'm very happy to see this. It was really needed.

  16. Arm, Intel, TSMC, AMD, Google and more industry leaders form the Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express (UCIe) standard WWW.TECHSPOT.COM According to Gordon Moore, the number of transistors in an integrated circuit doubles every two years (Moore's... Sounds like it could lead to some really interesting custom chiplets down the road.
  17. Nvidia Hit by Possible Cyber Attack - ExtremeTech WWW.EXTREMETECH.COM Nvidia has been hit by a cyber attack from an unknown source. Investigations are ongoing as the company secures its systems. Always seems a little interesting in a menacing way when such large companies get hit with stuff like this.
  18. Original title: Gabe Newell Banned NFTs from Steam Due to 'Sketchy Behavior' and 'Out of Control' Fraud Gabe Newell Banned NFTs from Steam Due to 'Sketchy Behavior' and 'Out of Control' Fraud - IGN WWW.IGN.COM Valve president Gabe Newell explains why Steam doesn't allow NFTs or cryptocurrency, citing that while the underlying technology isn't in a problem, bad actors use them for nefarious means. Glad to hear this. If NTFs are not allowed on Steam, that will me a major barrier towards getting them into popular games.
  19. Was wondering what possible reason they could have to be working on this so soon but reading the article it sounds like 12 will be a new starting point that ditches legacy code. I'd guess their starting so soon to get a jump on planning what the new code will look like and how developers will work with it.
