All have been available for purchase on the global market since April 4. At the moment, the only APU, the "Ryzen 5 4600G," does not appear to be accessible in the local market. There are further additions to the lineup. AMD will release the 5800X3D soon, where new SKUs would be unveiled on March 15. Release dates of the new AM4 chips:

• Ryzen 7 5800X3D: 20 April
• Ryzen 5700X/5600/5500/4600G/4500/4100: 4 April
• Ryzen 5700/5100/4700: During April

Some really interesting bang for buck options here. The 5700X seems better than the 5800X because it uses a lot less power and is only 100mhz slower.

The difference between the X series and Non-X series is....well very silly to be honest. It is true what Gamers Nexus says, you really do pay for the letter haha.

AMD's CPU naming scheme is a complete mess. This doesn't even account for their mobile processor line.

Wow, I was honestly really confused when I first read this because I'd forgotten they just skipped over the 5700/X a few years ago and it hasn't previously existed. When they announced the 5000 series, the 5700X was the one I was looking for specs-wise, so now I might end up with one some day. Happy with where my hardware is for the moment though.

Well they could have just lowered the price of the current chips instead. The 5500 is just a bad value. They should have lowered the clocks and TDP to 35w and released it as an athlon instead.

To be honest, releasing it as a 6c / 6t part with similar clock speeds to the 5600 would also have been a decent way to go as well.  But I guess the same thing could be said for the 4500 vs 4600 as well.

The 5100 is probably a 5300G with a disabled gpu. I wish they would release the 5300G as well.

Ryzen 5500 is a poor choice for a new build but it's godly for a drop-in upgrade for existing older Ryzens.

 

I'm considering upgrading all of my $85 Ryzen 1600AFs to Ryzen 5500s, just based on what I'm seeing with the gains on this 5600G sample I recently obtained. It smashes my Ryzen 3600 at everything despite half the L3 cache and overclocks nicely. Heck it's even beating my 2700x at multicore.

That's how I am viewing some of these new skus. Not great looking only within the lens of 5000-series, but are available and should be a nice drop-in upgrade for folks on older Ryzens.

If I were looking to upgrade from my 3700x, the 5700x would be a solid choice. I could sell my 3700x for maybe close to $200 on ebay, at least $150, and get the 5700x for ~$330 and get a pretty good IPC lift for ~$170 or less which wouldn't be a bad upgrade for the price at all. Personally though, I game at 4K so a better CPU than what I already have wouldn't really make any difference.
