AI powered image creation: you gotta try this!

I'm happy to see the thread cleaned and re-opened.   While yes, I said I'm not all that into CGI art......its still an interesting news topic.  

 

Some of those images its spitting out really are kind of interesting in how its interpreting the text inputted.  @bonami2.......what have you done there????

Yeah, once we got to page 2, somehow page 1 got all screwed up.  I thought it was just me.

You can do a lot with the prompts like adding certain art styles from specific artist and if you know what style your going for, you can get pretty close. 

 

Some basic commands you can add to a prompt:

 

"--hd" will use a more detailed render approach. Not always ideal for certain art styles. 

 

"--ar 16:9" control the aspect ratio. 

 

"--no" keep something out of your image. For example: clear sky --no clouds

I was having so much fun with it that I signed up for the paid unlimited version ($30/mo). I don't plan to stay subscribed for more than a month or two but in the mean time if you guys run out of free trial images but still have a cool idea for an image prompt, you can let me know and I can do the image prompt for you.

I tried a lot of different stuff, and one thing I tried that came out with really interesting results was cyberpunk disney princess. I did a lot of iterations of that to get better and better results, added a few terms like "borg" and "beautiful", borg to add green and beautiful to help the AI understand that the results shouldn't look too crazy. I think the results are pretty cool. See for yourself:

The women cyberpunk is impressive. The hair and color change with the mix of robot part.

 

Kinda funny i just watched terminator genesis.

 

I wonder what arnold with cyberpunk would give.

This comet was my favorite its really bad a dragons.  I tried "An evil black dragon flying and breathing fire", it failed miserably lol.

Recently some dude won an art competition with some art he made with midjourney. That sparked a lot of anger among artists, especially from the particular parties whose style was emulated by the AI. 

 

I get the anger, but at the end of the day I don't think there is anything anyone can do legally to stop this. At best, it's emulation which is totally legal. I think it's short sided for artists to shun this. I'd love to see what real artists could do if instead of hating it, they added AI as another tool to paint with, which is how I think of this kind of AI. It's like a very advanced paint brush and now that it's here, it's not going away.

It'd be pretty awesome to take some of the images that are not too 'oddballish' (that's a word, right? lol) and have them displayed on a clear LCD or something and add music with light sensors to 'move' the image to the music....

 

Someone gonna do if it's not already been done, FOR SURE imho....

"At best it's emulation" I think the concern is that At WORST it's SAMPLING which requires that credit be given to the original works. No Ice Ice Baby's allowed without proper credit! The image of Grumpy Cat in Hospital has a familiar looking cat,wonder what image it was taken from? Was it copied whole then dressed in scrubs? Was it inspired by drawings or photo's? What about the copyrighted material being used?

Maybe we should also read the linked article that was in my earlier linked post for more in depth details about the whole situation.
