Even though Enterprise said he's not accepting any more designs, I have one more t shirt in mind that I'm gonna do.

 

I also just sent some high quality art assets to @UltraMega for him to get some inspiration- I put ExtremeHW.net in a bunch of different fonts, I sent some more gradiented circuit board traces, and also have some computer related icon fonts and a font that is nothing but computer mice so I put all those in too, maybe Ultra can use this stuff to come up with some more cool mug designs or something. Dunno.

So I came up with this. I think Enterprise is fairly familiar with Linux, and I'm a huge advocate for it myself.

 

I will also be doing an MIT Knights of the Lambda Calculus themed shirt in a similar style with LISP in the background, probably tomorrow.

So for the above design, if you're on mobile max your brightness as the terminal boot text is at a layer opacity of like 8%

 

Also this one will have to go on a black shirt as the Linux terminal stuff is in a black box.

As promised, for any coders, here is a Knights shirt with LISP in the background. I highly recommend reading about the research they did using LISP for AI that was government funded and took place all throughout the 80s, and required very awesome and very specialized hardware to run what they were doing.

Again, this one has to go on a black shirt. Also, the image for MIT is public domain and from wikipedia, there shouldn't be any issue with MIT or anything (hopefully). As this is a hacker injoke anyway.

 

I'm doing these because I had the idea for them, and I was bored, and I really enjoy doing graphic art in GIMP- if anyone has any t-shirt ideas they would like to see made, please pm me with ideas and I'll try and put something together.

Thanks for the submission. We can consider these for the next round of merch content. The concern I have with the second submission is the MIT logo, it could be misconstrued that we have a relationship with MIT and I do not want to misrepresent either parties. We have to be wary of that type of thing. 

 

As an update, I am hoping to order the test merch this weekend for validation.

Yeah both UltraMega and I decided privately those exact things: no MIT logo (though I could just use the inside of the circle) but he came up with a better, cleaner layout on his own that is smaller and would print on less of the shirt.

 

He also suggested an anime design, which I could provide art for as I used to draw anime characters. I have not done this in a long time though and it won't look professional and will be colored in color pencil and scanned, which might make it clash with any digital graphics and text.

 

Tbh I have an idea or two for anime girls doing different things but I am not very confident in my skills drawing stuff like that anymore as it's been years, I switched to water color amd watercolor pen drawings of flowers and landscapes years ago.

 

I am going to suggest he look into finding stock anime art that is professional and digitally colored if he wants an anime shirt, if I have assets like that i can use I can put another design together. @UltraMega

Only 1 shirt. The one with the GPU PCB over the grid. Only 1 was ordered as this is a quality check only.

That's not a GPU PCB, it is our chip we will eventually release in 2123. You'll see when you get it.

 

(Don't believe the specs; that is actually a DIP packaged Motorola 68000 I turned gray to look like a heatspreader.)

Enterprise when you get the shirt you should wash and dry it like 10 times in a row to see how it holds up. Might be worth drying it once on high heat to see if it shrinks. You should pull it apart with both hands and make sure it doesn't rip. Etc

I've gotten shirts from redbubble and I had one in particular I wore for years and after 6 months or so the printing started to peel off/melt in the dryer. I got a ton of anime shirts and gaming shirts from them, and they'd be good for about 3 months but then the printing would start to flake off after enough washes. So I think washing it a lot and especially drying it might cause some wear. If it ruins it badly then you know you don't want to go with that site (printify I believe) if the art is going to come off.

So I'm wondering what the size/Oz. Is on the red and white mug with the logo, icons and circuit pattern? I use a much bigger than normal coffee cup in the morning and it looked larger than a standard mug. The black mug with Flux' design is cool but too small for me.

Figured as much.

 

I got another design planned but it will involve me using traditional mediums and then scanning it in, but I got some new watercolor markers expressly for this purpose. Let's hope they're better than the ones I already have.

I sincerely do not mean this in a rude manner, but I don't think it QUITE works that way mate.  I could be wrong, E can probably explain it a tad better, or maybe Avacado......but from what I've seen around here, you do good work, and things are offered based on your skillset and if you want to do it or not.  I didn't ASK to become a reviewer, it was offered to me based on what I bring to the table.

 

We're all in this together.  And that's what's important.
