I can't find it on ebay myself.  Link?  Are people SERIOUSLY bidding $10,000 for a card that's not even worth $1600 because its EVGA? -_-

I mean I guess because its "REALLY LIMITED" edition its worth more, but $10,000????

EDIT:

Nevermind, link is in OP but you've got the image in the link too so it was hard to find. 🙂

www.ebay.com/itm/374397756016

the listing states it benefits St. Jude's,  so there's that. don't know if that's the real motivator in all cases though.

Dude, that whole listing just SCREAMS fishy......  :lachen:

Seller just joined ebay Dec 7, 2022.

Seller claims no returns or refunds on both their active listings (even though eVGA is still in business for now)
That listing has jumped literally $12,000 in just hours......

eVGA has their very own web shop on ebay, and that's not them

I dunno man.....it just screams scam to me.  Maybe I'm wrong.  The hilarity of my original comment aside, there's a sucker born every minute.....this really REALLY seems scammy to me.  Maybe I'm wrong, and maybe somebody will get their $10,000 GPU, excuse me $11,000, excuse me, $12,000......is it done climbing yet?  This thing's going to be $100k before the first day is over.......

Inb4 TPU publishes an article about EVGA scammers on ebay......

Could be you're absolutely right! Someone probably ought to ask EVGA Jacob over on Musk's recent purchase.

eVGA's already been emailed.  😉 If its legit, then its legit.  If not, I'm sure they'll release an announcement or something, who knows.

...interestingly enough, EVGA is also hq'ed in Brea, California (see eBay location tag), so it 'could be' them (or not). From what I recall, there were ~ 20 or so engineering samples produced, complete w/ new 'Nex Gen...' stickers.

Not hard to pull up Wikipedia to see where EVGA is headquartered at and create the listing as being from 92821 in Brea, California.  I just created a dummy listing (didn't fully create it), and ebay let me create mine as being from Brea, CA despite me being thousands of miles away from there.

Fake or not, this would not be at all surprising. People love collectors items, especially ones that have such a limited run...from a company that has left the market.

Ahh, well to be fair, the proceeds are going to charity so that is cool, at least it is not going directly into the pocket of someone who should not technically be selling this GPU. If I had the cash, I would be tempted. Would be good for folding lol.

Hope you've got deep pockets, latest bid is $8300. 😛

They did state this though, "Bids turned in within 1 hour of auction closing WITHOUT any prior bid will be removed".  So yeah, so long as you bid before the last hour, you should be good to go.  I know you wanted one of these to add to your EVGA collection, so I hope you have good luck. 🙂

I hope I didn't give the impression I would actually bid on it. My pockets aren't nearly THAT deep for a non-functional GPU. I'll be after a 3090Ti a few years from now though.

Even if they were that deep man, I wouldn't judge you.  This is an entirely different beast than just a regular $1600 video card, especially now that its shown to be a real auction.  "Collectors cards" are definitely more valuable.  How much more?  Guess we'll see Dec 16th huh?

Meh. I just don't see the value here. Yes, I get it. The last card EVGA ever made..... Still, it being non-functional (As a fully fledged 4090) means it's not benchable and there are maybe 200 people in the world that would find sentiment in it for the cost. I just don't see this being sold by Sotheby's in 10 years for double.
