If AMD launched a few more cards like this, they might have a good answer to the Super cards.

I've been REALLY loving my 7900XTX.  A 7600XT with 16GB VRAM sounds like a very attractive 1080p / 1440p option.  Wow.

I hate to say it and bring the green team into the conversation, but Nvidia really doesn't have much of a solution in these budget ranges.  They have the RTX 4060, and the much more expensive 4060Ti, but both are only 8GB cards.  Today's games, even at 1080p definitely are starting to use more and more VRAM.  DLSS, yeah sure.  AMD has FSR and AFMF though too, which also do work and work well too now.

The GPU competition is starting to get good.   Wish it would bring the prices down some though, I still say the entire stack of cards is overpriced from both parties. -_-

Yeah the 7600 XT looks like a great card for the price.

 

And agreed on Nvidia. The 4060 Ti and 4060 also stagnated entirely on any performance uplift over their similarly named 30-series predecessors.

i can tell you the 7800XT is great with 16GB of vram, so the 7600XT will benefit aswell as a sweeter price for alot of people

Vega honestly is great with 16GB of VRAM compared to the 8GB models.

Not to be the Deby-downer but this seems like the 4060 Ti moment again. 128-Bit bus, extra 8gb of VRAM, except it's "only" $80 more expensive vs. $100 that Nvidia charged for the 16GB 4060 Ti. The performance gains are oddly skewed towards AMD sponsored games and compared against a RTX 2060 (non super).

 

I'd be super skeptical of this card...

And now, the only REAL path upgrade for me - it seems - would be either a 7900XTX or a 4070Ti Super. 

 

Am I in the right ballpark?

I think the 7600XT will sell well just because it's the cheapest 16GB card. Going over to team green it's a pretty big price jump to step up to that 16GB 4060ti. Budget gamers (the people interested in XX60 level cards) aren't going to spend $500 on a single component... Nvidia already realized this and dropped that 4060ti to $450 (which is still too much).

Give it a couple months for 4070ti supers to actually be in stock and AMD to be forced to drop prices. Either would be a decent upgrade.

Yep, definitely - helping a bud and we're thinking he gives me a small amount for my card - I give him a 10850K to pair it with + some RAM - I get a new card and hopefully some faster RAM (more stable high speed) - but, MIGHT also need new MOBO if I can't find a reasonably priced over 4000MT DDR4 kit beating out my 3200 CL14 (I'm sure something is out there). 

 

So... yeah cause I am NOT giving up my 10900K JUST YET. LOL.

don't worry about XMP frequency, my best OCing sticks were a late production B-Die DDR4-3466 kit. but: 

 

32GB DDR4-4000 16-16-16 B-Die for $189

 

32GB DDR4-4400 17-18-18 B-Die for $239

 

the second one is the better (XMP) bin of my current kit

Uses too much power. Id rather get the 4060ti 16gb. Unless I was on a smaller budget. But a used 6700xt would be worth considering at that point.

I went from a 6900XT to a 7900XTX and the difference was huge, ESPECIALLY in RT enabled titles since now I can actually play RT titles.  I would say a 7800XT or better, or maybe a 4070Ti or better from Nvidia would be worthy upgrades for your GPU.   Obviously the better the card, the bigger the upgrade will feel.
