Brand new 2.5L type RA short block and a new IHI VF48 Hi Flow turbo.

Most everything else I swapped from the old motor.  Other new parts included pretty much anything that touches oil and can't be easily cleaned, so new oil pump, AVCS solenoids, AVCS gears, and oil cooler.

Lamborghini Aventador 2 just dropped.

image.png.6abd59be6c0512456456bea512be4846.png

This is all that was shown so far, but it's going to have an NA V12 with a hybrid drivetrain for 1050hp.

That's neat, I'm almost surprised it's still an NA V12. Maybe they said that earlier and I missed it or something though, I haven't been following what Lambo's been up to super closely as of late.

Yeah, last I heard the Aventador successor was supposed to be a turbo V8 hybrid. Turns out that wasn't true.

What I remember hearing was the Aventador was going to be the last V12, and the Huracan replacement would have a TTV8. I could have things confused though.

That will only work if you're using the newer, sealed muffler bearings (also known as the throwaways). If you have to replace/regrease the older variety, you'll need to ensure the muffler bearing and its race are thoroughly cleaned, and packed with fresh elbow grease before installation/reinstallation.

Also, while you've got your car up on jack stands, you should also check your blinker fluid, especially if you make a lot of high speed turns.

Lastly, a recent encabulator update brought to you by SANS. SANS, the Industry Leader in Highest Standard Cybersecurity Education:

Well hello all,

Finally got some new front tires and a replacement passenger rear for the one I just had to hit a nail with (tire only had a few thousand miles on it).  Tires were $112 each vs the normal $142 so I can't complain about the timing.  Going to get that tire patched and put it on the full size spare rim I picked up from the salvage yard for $30.   Same exact rim as stock, but scuffed up.  Far better than rolling on a 10 year old mini spare.

I've been told the quickest way to get the old coolant out remove the coolant reservoir cap, and then stab a few holes at the bottom of the radiator. The old coolant will come out very quickly.

New bolts in my seat, just a bit longer so more threads are engaged in the seat - and the black matches the interior better.

Now I just need to replace some bolts under the bonnet too, but doing this in -5c weather with strangers commenting on my car in the underground parking lot are less than ideal circumstances.

Looks like the EU have decided to make an exemption rule to the 2035 ICE ban.

Manufacturers building fewer than 1000 vehicles per year will be exempt from the ban on new ICE cars
