/img/logo.png pioneerisloud`s PiFast score: 42sec 420ms with a Opteron 180 HWBOT.ORG The Opteron 180 @ 3072.1MHzscores getScoreFormatted in the PiFast benchmark. pioneerisloudranks #6749 worldwide and #20 in the... Best this chip is going to do, unfortunately best one in the house without trying to bin some 148's. Tried DDR500 sticks, IMC couldn't hang so went back to 4x1 since I wasn't going much past DDR400 anyway. We need one more Opteron for Socket 939. Anyone have one?

You really need a webcam or capture card or something. I REALLY want to see that running.

I just let them know, the spreadsheet should get fixed. @LabRat we've got you down for an MX4000 now. Holding you to at least that one sub. Got 13 days.

I will openly admit, my comment about gang bangers originally was a smart aleck response. That's just how I am, I joke around a lot. The rest though, like I said, was just trying to help. If my comments are a little to brazen, as I said too, I'll happily back off and not comment again. You seemed like you were curious why nobody was commenting about it, so I was trying to help, while still being me.

It was just some constructive criticism. It's not an adult toy, you don't have to take it so hard. I was only trying to help you progress. "You don't post it on social media".....ummmm, what is a forum? Again, I was only trying to help you get even better. I wasn't being mean or anything. There's some things to take creative liberties with, and some things that really shouldn't be. Company logos and fonts are one of those that really "shouldn't be" in most situations. You also completely skipped my opinion about the graffiti idea. Have you ever thought about painting any of your equipment? Modding it? I think that'd be a great use of your graffiti skills! Modding of PC parts with artwork would absolutely get more attention than photoshop work, and graffiti, as I mentioned can be VERY expressive and beautiful. EDIT: It does appear that I might have upset you though. So, with that said.....I'll go ahead and back off. If you're not wanting constructive criticism from me, I'll go ahead and stay out of it from now on and not say a thing.

Constructive Criticism: Know your audience and also know the company (or companies) you're representing in your image. Brand recognition is a big thing with companies, and that includes getting their logos, fonts, and colors correct. This doesn't mean you can't get creative, but usually it means leaving the logo / text in the logo alone. I think that's the biggest issue I personally see with the image above, is that the text and fonts don't match the companies represented in it. Graffiti art, actual graffiti can actually be pretty neat and expressive. I could see why legibility would be a concern when talking about brand recognition. Graffiti might be a better solution to try on something else. I mean honestly, it'd be kinda neat having a tagged up graphics card or something like that. Kind of like we used to get with the gamer anime girl stickers on GPU's. Or maybe even a case mod or something.

You must have some of the most educated and talented gang bangers in your area then......... Just saying, that really doesn't look like any type of graffiti I've ever seen.

/img/logo.png pioneerisloud`s GPUPI for CPU - 100M score: 2min 11sec 696ms with a Phenom X4 9850 BE HWBOT.ORG The Phenom X4 9850 BE @ 3150.3MHzscores getScoreFormatted in the GPUPI for CPU - 100M benchmark. pioneerisloudranks #1117... We still need 1 more run with an Agena quad core, not a 9950BE or 9850 (non BE). My 9850 (although wrongly listed) bumped us from 9th to 6th in that category!

Looking for an FX 8 core that clocks well. Degraded mine in the hwbot TC. -_- Thank you stupid (4P) requirement. Would prefer 8350 or higher if possible, 9590 for 5GHz "stock" daily would be awesome, but understandable if nobody has one or wants to part with. If you've got a 5GHz stable, 5.1+ bench stable 8320 or other Piledriver based 8 core though, I might still be interested. Anyway, looking to buy a replacement as that was a full working rig. Let me know clocks, voltages required, and price please? Will be going into a Sabertooth, so board's fine.1.00 USD

techspot Cableless GPU power connectors targeting over 600W specs leaked

Wouldn't be proprietary if it became an adopted standard though. -

Is that a dedicated 12pin SLOT for power? As in it'll slot in just like the PCIe slot? If THAT became standard instead of the stupid plug and cable you can't bend to fit your GPU in with the side panel on, I'm all for it! To be honest, I kinda prefer mid-range cards for their aesthetics for the very reason they don't have a bunch of 6 or 8pin cables connected to it. -
Ahh, well there we go then. It is a fantastically neat card.

Not trying to be rude, or even a moderator..., but best to take that conversation to PM at this point. As far as your debate, you already know the answer I'm sure. RTX 3070 > GTX 1080Ti > Vega. The cards will be priced accordingly I'm sure too. Knowing damric though, I'm sure he'll hook you up with a fair price on that MI25. On the other hand, you COULD say screw it, why not both? For the price of the RTX 3070 you could have a 1080Ti and the MI25 I'll bet. Both cards would be pretty comparable; personally I think it's kinda neat having a card from both camps that are similar.

guru3d AMD Unveils RX7700XT and 7800XT at $449 and $499
pio replied to UltraMega's topic in Hardware News
Right? No I agree, the "XTX" this round doesn't make sense. Especially since that didn't leave AMD any room at all for releasing a "Ti" variant later like they did last gen with the 6950XT, unless they're planning on doing a 7950XTX or something. Oddly enough, as far as AMD goes, this reminds me a LOT of ATI's X1k series cards from a decade+ ago, the last DX9 cards. X1800XT was originally the top dog card, then Nvidia came out with the GF 7900, then ATI released the X1900XT. Then Nvidia responded, then ATI came out with the X1950XT, then the X1950XTX. Meanwhile THAT generation, the x1800 was originally the "top dog" card. Yeah no, this isn't new. -_- Absolutely annoying when you're trying to match the same tier card each gen. Not new though. -_- -
guru3d AMD Unveils RX7700XT and 7800XT at $449 and $499
pio replied to UltraMega's topic in Hardware News
While yes, you are correct, you're also forgetting there's an extra card this go around. Last gen it was the 6900XT as top dog, then 6800XT (the 6950XT was a refresh released way later). This gen its 7900XTX, then 7900XT, THEN the 7800XT. So in all fairness you could about equate it to the 6700XT of last gen instead. I do agree with your point though, its the x8xx part number, they should keep those x8 series chips as is. AMD has been doing this for quite some time as well I'm afraid. It's typical marketing to sell more cards, that's all it is. AMD started doing this type of naming scheme changes as soon as they took over in the ealier HD series days. Not defending the practice at all, just saying its been relatively normal for AMD to do this. With Nvidia's mistake on their lower tiered RTX 4000 series, that was a different type of fiasco. I'd almost say similar to the 660Ti from years ago. Obviously cut down dies of an x50 or x60 sized card, trying to pass off as a high end 4080 which actually was following their last gen naming scheme, or the 4070Ti and lower 4060Ti. AMD is not 100% following last gen's naming scheme though, Nvidia is. Either way, both companies suck for misleading consumers in such manners. -_- -
You're learning and retaining GPU history...... perfect...... I honestly did not know that. Okay, cool, so I have Tri-X's. I love learning about GPU history, always learning new things.
-
Just gotta keep you on your toes bro. Seriously though, those were some gorgeous cards. I have one of those 290x Tri-X's myself, great cards. I can never remember if that model was a Tri-X or Vapor-X, whatever, you know what I mean lol.
-
Oof, is that Cooler Master v1000 the reason why those cards are no longer with you? R.I.P.

What is the most powerful AMD & NVIDIA GPU for Supermicro H8SCM-F?
pio replied to HeyItsChris's topic in Motherboards
Honestly, having ran a 6900xt, 5700xt, and a Vega64, all with modern enough Ryzen CPU's, I'd say the biggest difference between the 2 cards is going to be resolution. A Vega is capable of running "most" games at preset Ultra settings at 1080p. 5700xt can do the same at 1440p. And the 6900xt at 4k. With that being said, those tests were ran when I got my 6900xt when it was new. So basically, what your current Vega is doing at 1080p, a 5700xt will do VERY similarly......at 1440p. -

I have not. I'll be busting out Socket 939 here soon-ish for the hwbot Team Cup (you should join us again this year, only 2 weeks left). I can try one of them in Socket 939 or even AM2 here when I have those rigs out for benching. -

I have a Vega, 5700XT, and even a 6900XT. Been a while since I've checked on server boards, but looks like C32 is roughly equivilant to Bulldozer and Piledriver ish. I've got a 290x paired with my FX chip. RX 580 is also a good pairing. Vega will be SLIGHTLY bottlenecked by it, but it'll run fine. R9 Fury would also be a good fit, although Vega would work better. 5700XT if you absolutely want something supported by current drivers. You could also step into like a 6600XT, or even a 6700XT if you're at 4k resolution I'd wager too. -
I'm not sure if it'll help in your fella's quest here, but I have on hand a Vega64 I could measure. I do believe @LabRat has the same card too though.
