Funny you mention that. I was actually considering playing that again and trying to do a more enchanter/magical type character which is outside my normal wheelhouse. I've done the whole stealth archer assassin thing, brute warrior types, heavy armor, Resto magic, 2H weapon Paladin type vampire hunter, etc.

Finally got my install stable again last time I played with my mods. Just wish the engine let me alt tab without breaking the game. Never could fix that. I probably just need a second screen sometime, but would really need another desk for that to work for me.

When was the last time you played? I remember it crashing a lot but I haven't had any issues lately.

My gf got hooked on some other game and when I saw how sucked into it she was I got her to start Skyrim to see how sucked into that she would get and she's definitely hooked. Then after watching her I wanted to play again too so I rehooked myself.

I've only ever done one character in Skyrim and I've been playing it the whole time, so my save goes back almost ten years now haha.

I want to say my last play-through was maybe 2018 or 2019? It was the Resto magic, 2H hammer Paladin. I just finished getting my mods stable again, but have not actually tried to setup a new character yet. This is on the SE version.

Are you using just visual mods or anything else noteworthy?

I just have a couple visual mods myself.

I just have a couple visual mods myself.

At one point I had about 120+ mods, but became unstable.

Currently I want to say I have maybe 50 right now but will have to double-check when I get home. Ranges from visual (lots of these), to gameplay, role-play, animation, camera, armor/weapons, etc.

Damn and I thought my 20-30 mods was starting to feel like a lot.

I haven't gotten into any gameplay mods yet. I haven't run out of things to do in the base game enough just yet, but probably soon I will try one of those dlc sized mods.

Have you tried a mod that makes the game run in windowed borderless? Not sure about the special edition, but I always used one whenever I played base Skyrim. Worked perfectly, and fixed the double cursor issue as well, if I remember correctly.

Windowed Borderless sounds perfect, thanks. I'll peruse the Nexus when I get home.

And agree, I get that Double-cursor issue too.

I wonder if there have been any patches since microsoft bought bethesda. My gf started playing it on game pass but it was crashing a lot so she ended up buying it. I noticed that on both the game pass and steam version the games doesn't let you switch between controller and mouse anymore which I'm fairly sure it used to allow.

Side note, I find myself playing this game in fist person a lot more now than I used to. I pretty much stay in first person all the time where as back in the day I mostly played it third person.

Feel a little silly that I'm actually excited about the anniversary edition coming out soon.

Oh I forgot that the Anniversary Edition was coming out.

I've never played a TES game in 3rd person personally. It's one of those games I found very off-putting to play 3rd person. Maybe that goes back to my EverQuest days.

QUAKE 4  (it's the boomer in me).  It's actually the first game I installed on the newest build, the KPE 3090/5950X combo. Next up: not sure, but I've got enough to keep me busy for the foreseeable future.

If you mean the demo RTX version of Quake II, I'll give it a go once I've tightened up my setup 🙂  Still adjusting things here, running Time Spy, etc.

Oooh I didn't know about that one! I was referring to regular quake. The steam release now has 2 options, classic quake and the 2021 remaster. It's not rtx, but it's got multi-player, better graphics, and much better modern hw support. I just played the whole thing coop and had a blast at native res on my sig rig. Quake II is next on my list.

Division 2

Assassin's creed, have pretty much all of them.

Control

Most of the games I play are 3rd person due to a TBI in the military.  I started out playing unreal tournament, quake, doom, etc. waaaaaaay back in the day lol  But can't do fps anymore.  Wanted to play the new cyberpunk (wife has it on ps5) but after watching her play for about 5 minutes I wanted to barf lol  Unfortunately there's no other views.  Anybody suggest some good third person shooters?  I have witcher 3 wild hunt, just haven't tapped into it yet.  Also really enjoy the open world type environments a lot.

Why can't you do first person? Motion sickness?

Have you tried Wildlands? It's a good third person game.

Had a TBI in the military and it damaged part of my brain and right ear/eye.  So not only does it make me motion sick, but will eventually set off a seizure because I have epilepsy now as well.  A FPS (simulated walking/view) will really monkey with me pretty bad.  It actually sent me to the hospital once because I refused to give in at a lan party and fell out of my chair having a seizure (scared the * out of my buddies).

Whoa haha that's dedication. I knew a guy who got motion sickness from certain fps games it's it turned out the fov had to be 90 for him or he'd get sick. Sounds like your case is unique but might be worth a try.

Why not update again with you guys? 🙂

I've played so far, HL1-2, Doom (old ones), Quake 1, and now working on Halo series currently.  All co-op.  Any other games that are legendary that I might've missed over the years that are now co-op friendly?

Was trying to figure out the Elder Scrolls series, but apparently co-op specific mods never really gained full traction.  Crysis series co-op fell flat on its face in like 2007 / 2008, so that probably doesn't work either.  Didn't find any Quake 2 or 4 co-op mods, but the OG Quake was great anyway.  I dunno what all games I've missed over the years even.  Before this latest run, the only games I'd ever played to completion were Mafia II and the entire Portal series.  Finding new co-op mods has really opened me up to a lot more games I'd have never touched before.

TLDR:  I need moar co-op game ideas! :wheee:

Not really dedication, just got tired of watching everybody else play FPS games and I had to wait until we did something else.  So just sucked it up and went for it, bad choice, but worth a shot.  Plus I was on some new meds that were supposed to help.  But I still get to play some pretty good games and even a couple first person that for some reason didn't set it all off.  Got really good at mechwarrior games.  Maybe it's something to do with how they simulate the walking motion, or view perspective, not really sure.  But that one I never had an issue with.

Probably not in the same vein of the type of game you're looking for but Cuphead or It Takes Two?
