Off topic, but just want to say how much I love the rig pic with Tux and the angry eyes.

Tux is angry because someone created a new Windows 11 desktop theme for Linux. Ugliness has a way of finding you no matter where you go.

^Interesting.

For that bipolar SO in your life:

How to Make Linux Look Like Windows 11

How to Make Windows 11 Look Like Ubuntu

We finally got Windows 10 to look as nice as Windows 7 did with a few registry hacks and third party apps; now they redefine ugliness on a whole different level, on an order of magnitude never imagined possible.

thought I posted already but I'm playing though RDR2 again with my new GPU.

1440p on ultra with DLSS on quality with a 3080 Ti is getting me 2x the FPS I was getting on my 1080 Ti at 1440p with a 90% (0.925 IIRC?) resolution scale at HUB settings (mix of medium and high).

So how's Dying Light 2 treating you @schuck6566? I only played the first one for the first time in 2020. Story was kind of meh, but enjoyed the gameplay a lot.

I personally haven't played 2 yet but wife is and she seems to like it now that she's further into the game. At first she complained the story was dragging and it was taking too long to build up stamina.(I think the stamina thing makes it more life like)

Still has some glitches in it but they seem to be working on them. She's also playing on the Xbox series S.

Not sure when I'll get dying light 2 because of the increased parkour (even harder than the first games)and not such a fan of it.😉

Edit: Wife says this review by Angry Joe pretty much sums it up (contains profanity).

If you like the concept of a Dyson sphere, you might like Larry Niven's Ring World series to read.

I like it, nice game play, story line so far and no having to deal with others or grind like Destiny 2 has been. 🙂  Epic has it on sale 50% off ($24.99) and CDKeys has it even cheaper -67% ($16.39) so it's not a bad price right now if you want to try it. This is the First one, NOT the new release game called Forbidden West.

I played it originally on PS4 not the PC remake but I thought it was a solid open world adventure game.  One of the better done ones and felt like the world was refreshing with its take on post apocalyptic.

It's a very good game. Definitely a game that leans heavily into the more cinematic aspects of gaming, meaning playing it in a home theater setup rather aiming for 120hz+ at low res is going to be much preferred, and if you have surround sound that's a MAJOR plus in this game. The audio is exceptional, it really stands out. HDR is also very effective here.

I was playing this game when I upgraded my GPU last and went from a 1080Ti to the RX6800 I have now. Basically went from 30 to 60 but because this game is so cinematic, I enjoyed it almost as much as at 30 as I did at 60.

Gameplay is very solid. The dialog with random NPCs is usually boring, but other than that it's all very good.

When I bought this game I bought a version that came with the DLC and I didn't know what part of it was the DLC content and I ended up traveling to the DLC region and doing side quests there for a while... long story short I was ended up at max level before I even dented the main quest without realizing what I had done.

Read a number of his novels (including the Ringworld Series) right around the time of the Apollo missions. Was a big sci fi fan as a kid and read tons of the stuff.
