horizon zero dawn is more cinematically pretty than any game in a long while

not the best of time in game wise for a screenshot, buy youll get the picture

 

in other news, ive been on a retro games binge, started over again with HL1 by picking up black mesa.

 

finished need for speed underground and am halfway through underground 2. most wanted is arguing with me and not wanting to install

Recently built a racing sim setup and have been playing a lot of Assetto Corsa and Forza Horizon 5.

...apart from FS2020, Cyberpunk '77, Forza H 5 and Team 4 (superbike racing) I mentioned before, I've 'rediscovered' Need for Speed: Most Wanted. That used to be a fav many years back (I started w/ the 2013 edition) but I installed it now on my latest systems and noticed that they have an updated graphics engine and much new content - RTX2,3kxx and RDNA2 have zero problems running everything at ultra / max at 4K...I still think NFS: Most Wanted is more than competitive with newer racing games in the sheer fun department.

1 was great. 2 was just a copy of 1, just a cut and paste sequel. 3 was really bad. One of the most boring games to play that I've ever finished. The twist ending was cool but the gameplay was just soooo boring. All those sections that were literally on rails were really lame. That game was definitely held back by the 360 era.

She bought me THIS for my Birthday next week.... So,looks like I'll be starting another game soon.

...nah, the dual mobo / dual GPU work-play setup for 2x 16c/32t CPUs and 2x500W+ GPUs only has a total of 2550mm x 63mm rads, 'many' 120mm fans in push-pull, and 5x D5s - just enough to be whisper-quiet...

 

...the only dancing required is by the cooling liquids in the reservoirs

I finally played through all 3 Bioshocks (1 and 2 for the first time), in 2020 when we all got sent home. My personal opinions on them are as follows:

 

1: A masterpiece in world building, atmosphere, fun gameplay, and a great story. Fantastic game.

 

2: This one was the dud in the series for me and felt like an absolute slog to get through in my opinion.

 

Infinite: I didn't think it was really bad, but it was definitely a slog as well. That said it had a one up over 2 in my opinion as the atmosphere and world building was still fun and a nice contrast to 1. But yeah, it was very repetitive.

Well,with settings on high(not ultra)and the fan curve up a little plus dlss set on balanced game play is smooth with no stutters or tears. shot's at idle ish...

that experience will last until tier 6 or 7 when you get tossed in with tier 9 players and get outgunned

tomb raider has 3 focus points:

 

1 -  laras booty

2 - keeping laras booty alive by killing things

3 - puzzle progression

 

though most may disagree with me on this. but alot wont.
