Missed the first two days so spun up my HTPC even to help, I was a bit surprised by the PPD my 1030 was spitting out

I just got home to my main system being basically shot dead. FAH Errored out, first gpu flat out Failed?! Never seen that before. Temp at idle was 153 degrees no load. Something def isnt right. I knew these Kingpin cards had crap reliability but i was really hoping they'd hold out for this. Hopefully it just needs a repaste or something. Been fine all week though. Odd to happen all of a sudden. On the plus side i hooked my HTPC 780/9100 to the 1000 watt platnium psu next to it and its been stead 550k ppd all day no black screens. That 500w evga just cant hold it up i guess. But you got the win here @BWG I was going to stomp up but much like Icarus i got cooked to death by a gpu lol.

Oh man, does that have a water cooler or a fan? Was the pump/fan spinning?

 Fans, never got around to watercooling them. Both were running per the fan scale i set. 0 load. 70% fan speed. 153 degrees. Almost like it failed running a WU and just never stopped running it or something. Ive had bad overclocks n such before but this gave me a red Failed in FAH and was just reading like a maniac so ive zero clue. System restart and letting it finish the WU's it was doing then i will dive deeper into the issue. Id upgrade if anything was even available...

That was really fun!  Reminds me of Foldathons in my past life.  Nice job everyone, next time we need to get to 100mil PPD and or 900WUs in one day.

 

Didnt win the 3060 lottery today,  I was able to click on buy now at Best Buy, but could not add to cart.  Oh well.  Time to rig up a 3rd 1070 in my main folding rig.

Seriously though guys, that was a lot of fun.  Wish I'd have not taken time off for gaming during the competition that one day .  Also woulda been nice had I not been lazy and gotten everything functional beforehand.  But ah well.

That's why I let my computers do the folding for me...

 

By the way, you can see how many 17800 units I received the last day. 120 units for 18 mil points and the day before was 87 units for 20 mil points. Those units are way too small to load big GPU's, it has been a subject of discussion on the folding forum too. Did notice anything with those units on your systems?

Thanks for folding, every unit helps. If you need more units you can always try to add a CPU or a laptop with a dedicated GPU and set it to "max-packet-size = small". On my laptop with a gtx850m which is almost 6 years old I still get 150k ppd and between 10 and 20 units depending on their size. There is no guarantee it works though, a few months back I only received bigger units that took 8-12 hours to finish with 65k ppd. But you can always give it a try if it's a close race

We went up 19 positions in the team rankings the past 7 days. If we can do 30 mil ppd average with the team we will have no problem overtaking the next 50 teams and keeping other teams out of our rearview
