  1. That first image....... That's definitely either a 9800 or X800 / X850. Can tell by the VRAM locations on the top of the PCB and the PCB itself. It APPEARS that its got a molex plug plugged in, but in the image its hard to say. If so, that limits it to a 9800 or X850 being as that would make it an AGP card for sure. So yeah, almost certainly a 9800. Just had mine die the other day.
  2. I can top that..... How about a "custom modded" cheapie desktop ATX style case......running an AthlonXP 2400+, uknown RAM and GPU (obviously has S-Video Out though), running Windows Vista x86 specifically for Media Center and I think it was "TVU Player"? Was my first 110% purpose built HTPC. Rocked plenty of desktops on the TV's back then for NES / SNES / 64 emulators, I think I started originally with a P3 era Celeron emachines or something. But yeah, first official HTPC "mod" I ever made. First mod I "published" on OCN too. I did, later on rebuild it with some better parts. Athlon x2 3800+, NF4 SLI motherboard, 2GB (4x512MB) DDR400, and AMD ATI HD3450, in a "proper" HTPC case. I didn't actually mod anything on this one though.
  3. Here's the rig I had built BEFORE I joined enthusiast communities (OCN). Celeron 352 @ 4.5GHz (clockgen OC'd) I believe it was 2x512MB DDR400 ATI Radeon X1650 PRO AGP Idk what else it had in there, literally all I have is memory and these 3 pictures. My above pictured rig (939) replaced this very shortly after joining OCN. Ironically enough, I located a VERY similar case to this, and built a similar rig to it in it. A64 3200+ / X1950 PRO. That rig lives, just haven't taken pictures of it yet.
  4. I'm absolutely by NO MEANS a modern Intel guy........ Does the Northbridge clock have anything to do with those results though? I notice the older chip has a 4.3GHz NB, and the newer one has a 4.0GHz NB. On Ryzen setups that'd have something to do with it for sure.
  5. Correct. Above that was a 12v cig lighter and pop out ash tray (or cup holder). Above that, a 5.25" drawer. Above that 5.25 - 3.5" HDD adapter with 40mm fans. Both cases were Apevia (Aspire). I believe X-Discovery and X-Pider? The X-Pider was the "Chieftec Dragon" (identical to one, just like the Antec Performance). The one on the left, that circle in the center was actually an analogue temp sensor guage.
  6. If you want an ACTUAL vintage picture, literally taken decades ago...... Here's my first rig I built while a part of OCN. Socket 939 A8N32-SLI Deluxe, Opteron 165 @ 3GHz, eVGA 8800GTS 512KO, 4x1GB Corsair XMS DDR400, and everything else you see. Other rig in the Chieftec Dragon sitting next to it was my dual Socket 370 overclocked to 1.5GHz Pentium 3 server with 2GB ECC RAM in it and I forget what all drives in it for storage. Had some weird RAID array of IDE drives though, I think they were 250GB's. Really wish I still had all these parts.
  7. Ahhh man, where do I even begin!?!? How about I start my first post off in this thread, with the latest old full rig I'm working on. I think ALL of these parts should qualify as old. Specs: Asus A78NX-E Motherboard Athlon XP 2500+m 3x1GB Corsair DDR400 Thermaltake Volcano 7 CPU cooler (with Thunderblade 80mm fan) Aerocool 550w PSU Sapphire ATI Radeon X850 PRO Realtek PCI LAN Card TP Link Wireless N PCI card Soundblaster Live! 5.1 PCI sound card Adaptec ATA133 RAID card And drives of course Just diagnosing why its not POST'ing for me right now, literally JUST put it together, sat down and saw your thread. To be honest, could just be my monitor, going to try swapping to an older VGA capable monitor first before I start ruling out parts. Might just need a CMOS reset too, dunno yet. All parts have been tested as 100% working before though.....so shouldn't be too hard to figure out. So.....guess you guys can enjoy a little sneak peak before I consider this rig "done" and post it in my own thread. Literally, first time powering this full rig, assembled, on.
  8. It was said in reference to what the AI had said. And I did read it, several times. I don't see a single "hateful rhetoric" remark made by the AI. Yes, its going against what Pfizer sponsored information says, but that's not "hateful rhetoric".
  9. I'm not saying anything at all about the vaccines. Talk to your doctor, read the ingredients yourself. Don't take advice on a computer forum about your health lol. With that said, the ONLY thing I'm calling out here is the fact that TechCrunch is using propaganda buzzwords to generate clicks. I read the source TechCrunch article, New York Times, and Newsgaurd articles that were sourced. Not a single mention of Hitler outside of this TechCrunch article. "Disinfo", "Hitler", "hateful rhetoric", "conspiracy", these are ALL propaganda buzzwords that mean absolutely nothing, especially for a vaccine that's still in its trial stages and testing stages until 2024. The actual fact is, we don't know. You are absolutely correct that the terms "secretly added" and "dangerous chemical" are also incorrect to be used. But yet again, I'd call that more propaganda than I would "disinfo". Because as I already said, we don't know yet. There is one truth though, tromethamine wasn't "secretly added", they added ALL of the ingredients on purpose.
  10. I see what you're saying there, so like the black banner would be visible all the time, but maybe with a button to minimize it (UNLESS you're already scrolled to the top already)? I could see it.
  11. It almost looks like an older Opteron or FX type copper based stock cooler to me. Have to wait for @ShrimpBrime to confirm for sure though.
  12. I don't know how you were keeping a 2700x cool with the stock heatsink. My son's 2600x hits like 95c on the stock heatsink.
  13. "Disinfo, hateful rhetoric, Hitler......" Since when did TechCrunch start in with propaganda hit pieces? "Disinfo" is debatable at this point given how wide of a range people's beliefs are these days. "Hateful rhetoric" and "Hitler" have absolutely nothing to do with the quoted AI statements though. What kind of hot garbage is this? -_- The absolutely hilarious thing here, the "disinfo" is actually true (to some degree). Tromethamine is literally listed in the ingredients to these vaccines. Just a quick search, but you're welcome to search yourself for the ingredients: https://www.uchealth.com/en/media-room/covid-19/a-comprehensive-list-of-all-covid-19-vaccine-ingredients And if you read the side effects on the drug, tromethamine, it literally lists the same side effects the AI was quoting.: https://www.drugs.com/cdi/tromethamine.html
  14. Slippery slope mate. I joined EHW in 2021 with a 3770k. Upgraded to a Ryzen 3600, then a 5800x, and now eying the 7700x. -_- Honestly, going with either Intel or AMD at this point would certainly be an upgrade. I can't wrap my head around the difference on the cores with modern Intel, so I prefer to stay away from that. My AMD machines have been treating me pretty well though. Welcome to EHW! Hope you find this place to be your "home".
  15. That's actually a fantastic spreadsheet! If you can get that document (eventually) sorted out into tabs, we could probably sticky that in the AMD section (if you'd want it to be). Tons of useful info there!
  16. I haven't posted a video, but it LOOKS like the videos section is posted separately from the threads? As in, I don't BELIEVE the videos are just pulled from threads, but instead users are uploading them to that section. I think. Again, could be wrong as I haven't used them other than watching, like you have. With that said, there IS a date stamp if you click on the video title. Not as easy as seeing it on the homepage though, definitely agree.
  17. Can confirm, issue exists both logged in and browsing incognito. @ENTERPRISE
  18. Ahh okay, yeah that's what I was trying to get across. I was aware that the counter stopped with the newly made review comments threads. But the "latest" section for reviews, still brings users to the review itself (not a bad thing). But the comments threads.....the review is at the top anyway, so yeah, wouldn't be too big a deal to link there instead. Thank you for clarifying. I just wasn't sure how that section was going to continue.
  19. Just noticed that with the new review forum, the comments are no longer being tallied up in the "latest" section. Also, to find the thread you have to scroll to the bottom of the review. Would it maybe make more sense to count the comments in the thread in the "latest" section, and to have the link go to the thread instead of the review itself? Seeing as the review itself is bolded, at the top, in the comments threads? IDK, just an idea.

    Howdy do

    Another username I remember! Welcome!
  21. I didn't know you were over here! I agree whole heartedly with this sentiment, I'm also a 2007 OCN'er. For those curious (not everyone was an OG), I do believe OCN was originally started in 2004 (feel free to correct me). I'd say anyone in that first iteration before the switch to Huddler could, in theory, be considered "OG". I think that happened around 2011-2012 or so, ish? Reason being, that entire time.....the USERS were what was important, both with management and staff members (myself included at the time). After the Huddler switch, it was all about pleasing Huddler admins. The users are what made OCN what it is. The overclocking, modding, water cooling, TEC cooling, Phase Change, LN2, chopping up junkyard cases (who did that I forget?), custom making their own acrylic full on cases (R.I.P. Syrillian), Intel stealing nanometers, playing Crysis on a Pentium 2, etc, etc. "Enthusiasts" do a LOT for the PC communities. And we do it because "why not". Obviously that mentality hasn't died with OCN, but its kind of nowhere else on the internet either except for a few smaller forums with everybody all split up. I dunno, I just think its awesome when we're all together, and have other just as crazy minds to bounce ideas off of. Bouncing crazy ideas around is where all the fun is.
  22. Whoa whoa whoa whoa......... You mean to tell me I've been doing Unigine wrong all these years and that you can ACTUALLY interact within them? What kind of sorcery is this?
  23. I dunno, I was playing Cyberpunk just the other day at 5120x1440 on my 6900XT, with RT on and FSR set to "Performance" (RT lighting to medium instead of Ultra). Played in the mid 40's+ FPS. Seemed like an okay experience to me, the game just wasn't that exciting.
  24. Today, I'm hoping I'll end up getting busy on a review I'm working on. Idk, depends on how things start going. The day's just started so far so I guess I'll see how much I actually end up accomplishing today. -_-
