  1. I'll just leave this here: Logitech z623 Review NOAUDIOPHILE.COM They're noise makers. That's about it. If you're only about making loud noises with them, they'll do fine. PC Gaming, they'll do "fine". But hey, I'm all for experimenting. Give them a listen! If you don't like them, Amazon should take them back no problem. Honestly, these would've been a MUCH better buy, as you could easily add in a powered sub to the setup later (possibly with very easy to do slight mods, or can just use an RCA splitter). Monoprice has an okay enough 8" for like $60 $90 (price went up apparently). Assuming the Edifiers alone didn't pack enough of a punch. Amazon.com WWW.AMAZON.COM

    2022 Team Cup!

Hey, I'm only about ~300 points behind you at what was it 4.7 all core? 4.65? Either way, seems like mine is NOT performing that badly afterall at least! Glad you got a better run than I did. That just means we're doing something right....moar free internet points! Exactly. I've been having a BLAST doing these runs. As I said earlier, "technically" my first time actually competitively benching (for hwbot). Keeping it fun and not an ACTUAL competition where feelings can get hurt is what its all about. We score whatever we score, and we had fun doing it.

    2022 Team Cup!

We only have a good chance because we're all helping out. Teamwork was important in this competition, and we definitely seem to have that down pretty well here. Sorry to hear about all the things you're going through mate. Things will get better. Sounds like you've got most of the important expensive bits handled so far. Not going to lie, I was kind of hoping to see you run some of your gear, but at the same time was dreading it too because it'd knock us down. But it'd just make me want to try to improve my own subs too anyway, so whatever. I'm definitely limited by my cooling capacities, so it is what it is. Nothing wrong with keeping some of your "secrets" to yourself, you're here, and you're helping us out where you can. You still hold several #1 spots, so your advice is definitely appreciated. Take care of the things you need to first. HWbot will always be there, but sounds like you need to focus your attention elsewhere. Definitely keep yourself in good health, so go handle your doctor related stuff. If you do happen to get some runs in, it'll be an honor to compete against you. If you don't, there's always the next competition for you to kick my butt in. I figure since you helped with my old boards, its only fitting......I'm going to TRY to bust out that A8N32 again to see if its capable. I know I've got a good clocking x2 for it, I just need to figure out what the problem was last time I had it out. I can't for the life of me remember why I didn't want to use it. *shrugs Short of one, ONE CPUz submission years and years ago, and one DICE run using somebody else's name on hwbot (may he R.I.P.), this is my first REAL run with hwbot too. The DICE run, he was using my equipment for the run because he didn't have Skt 939 equipment, and I wasn't doing any competing for hwbot at the time. So brought it over and we had some fun with it. Good times. Yeah I gave up on my 5800x. I can't for the life of me figure out the RAM stuff on it. I'm scoring less in Cinebench right now than a 3800x does.

CPU-NB clocks, get those up higher. 2.8-3.0GHz should be easy at 1.45v CPU-NB. You're under water, maybe you can get by with more. The more the better, but I'd expect around 3GHz. CPU-NB was the key for Phenom II back in the day, it was almost as important as CPU clocks IIRC. I mean it was for daily use / gaming rigs, I'd assume it'd be the same on benching. I know what you're about to do....... Well, not really. You're going to show me up on my old school knowledge, I know that much. A little friendly competition isn't gonna hurt anything. I wish you nothing but luck, and its awesome that you've been chiming in and helping us anyway.
  5. That's right, "1440p" would be basically 2/3 right on the nose, so yeah 0.6 is just a hair under. 1080p being 1/2. Silly numbers. Honestly with modern dynamic resolution scaling options, its really not even all that bad going with a lower resolution if you absolutely have to.
  6. So its basically a render size difference of what, 1920x1080 on top vs approximately 2560x1440 on the bottom screen then right? Yeah, that's about the right amount of a jump. I've been having a "fun" time tinkering with resolution scaling too since I'm back on an RX 580 for a little while myself.

If you want to properly restore that card that you glued the fan back together on.....you CAN buy replacement fans for it. gtx+460+75mm+fans: Search Result | eBay WWW.EBAY.COM Buy and sell electronics, cars, fashion apparel, collectibles, sporting goods, digital cameras, baby items, coupons, and everything else on... Just a generic search, but the Hawk Twin Frozr is just a 75mm fan, same as all of the ones listed in that search. Depending on if yours are wired together or separately would determine which one to buy since you can buy a single fan or the pair. Most are going to be coming from China though, so it'll be a few weeks wait. If you wanted to restore it properly of course.
  9. Are you going to sit on the desk or your subwoofer? It'd be kind of redundant to put them on an existing giant vibrating box...... You're supposed to put them somewhere where you will FEEL them. The project you're talking about is more suitable with full range amplifiers and using foam sheets hanging off the ceiling to replace speakers with a transducer-ed sheet. Not subwoofer frequencies. By all means play around with it, I do encourage that. But what you bought was a sub amp for it, and the intent (I thought) was for lower range frequencies. Unless you're going to be sitting on your desk or your sub cabinet, I'd say attach it to your chair. Those little transducers are not suitable to make AUDIBLE sub bass frequencies, but they "can" be used to make full range noise.
  10. Its supposed to be mounted to your seat, whether it be a chair or a couch. They're also useful in cars too.

  12. I just caught that list, wow....... A smart toothbrush, floss, an easy bake oven for adults (isn't that called a regular oven?), and a smart condom and wine bottle? Seriously, people need to put the screens down more and go outside. If you need to order yourself a new bottle of wine without putting down the one in your hand, I think its time to admit there's a problem........ I don't blame you on the dog cam, seems creepy too. I don't like the fact that I have smart phones in the house myself even, but I can't deny their usefulness either though sadly.

Want me to run my ASRock 990FX Extreme 3? I can....... I don't have a 960T though, and I definitely tapped out my 965BE, so kinda pointless anyway. We've got to work on your Socket 754 run too. I'll bug you on discord about it, but I'm sure we can get you to squeeze out a little more MHz out of it. It's a K8, so in theory it should tap out around 2.5GHz-3GHz+ depending on the chip. It should do really well with RAM too assuming the IMC's not damaged already. NF motherboard so you've got a good board to start with at least. Could be worse, you could be like @PCSarge who swore up and down he could beat @Bastiaan_NL with his 5700XT, and then never ran it again. C'mon PCSarge, this isn't StockclockedHardware.net! Yeah yeah yeah, shots fired..... I'd like to see us break into 4th place though. We were knocked back down to 6th though right now.

The Opteron is okay for the DDR1 memory bench I do believe. For the AMD CPU runs (for DDR1 systems) it says no Opteron is the only rule, so your 3500+ would be suitable there.

Dood! Awesome job with the SLI 460's! Dont' get discouraged if Flux comes in and does runs, its all part of the game. If his run is invalid, which it probably will be because its Flux...then yours will still stay anyway. Read the requirements on the Socket 939 CPU runs. Requires an Athlon processor, NO Opterons. I can't find my x2. -_-
  17. Here's another good "sub" song, much prettier song anyway. 30Hz range.
  18. It totally depends on the setup I've noticed too. To be honest, my Honda seemed to do best with a remake of Melanie Martinez's Carousel. Song absolutely BANGED in that car with dual Dayton Ultimax 10's off about 2500-2700w RMS. In my SUV though, with three of those subs and a measured 2744w to them, it tended to do better in the 40Hz range. In a home setup though, especially if its tuned correctly for home theater, those subsonic notes SHOULD be present, and they should be felt and not heard. I wish I had a proper home setup lol. Stupid apartment. Note: This is clearly not "high quality" music. This is most definitely a good subwoofer test though if your setup can extend to 26Hz.
  19. Okay but what about the 6900XT? It's great that he's doing this, but how does it work on the higher SKU cards too? If it works so well on the 6800XT, it should work on the 6900 and 6950 no? I won't be able to test this out on mine until MSI gets me my card back. Hopefully this will be released by then. I would be completely happy with an increase in power consumption, my PSU is hardly breaking a sweat as is, and my cooler keeps the card below 65*C load which is super cool for a 300-350w load. I just need that little TINY bit more GPU power than my card provides as is. If I could beat the 6950XT with my 6900, I'd be one very happy gamer. I'm really not THAT far down in performance from where I ultimately want to be. Honestly like another 5-10% performance, and I'd be set for YEARS to come.

Nice catch! Yeah SLI doesn't work in windowed mode.
  21. 192k mp3 I think is what the "HD" youtube has for quality, or somewhere around there. You're right, its not the greatest by any means, but its at least listenable. Personally, I grew up with the mp3 boom. It hit right when I was really getting into speakers and music. So sadly, my ears are accustomed to it. I do still enjoy a good vinyl though too, sadly haven't gotten to experience one of those in like 20 years though. Here's one of my favorites to play with for excursion of subwoofers. You won't hear the low notes in this. I believe the "peaks" are at 17Hz and 7Hz respectively with the main bass note being somewhere around 30Hz-36Hz.

If you happen to have an AM3+ setup (FX), we could REALLY use the pair of wicked high clocking 290's to join up with my RX 580's and Bastain's 590's. 23. To be fair, the REALLY bad offender I was originally thinking of when I ran into Blue Jeans was "Coconut Audio". Website's gone now, but back in the day that troll really did have a fully functioning checkout system. Not sure how many people fell for the scam. I remember banning Patrick off OCN several times for trying to sell his garbage. I mistakenly thought it was Blue Jeans. Could've sworn Blue Jeans was spamming OCN at one point too, but I could be wrong its been years. Again, they're not THAT bad, but they're far more expensive than cables really should cost if somebody shops around. Just like Monster. Idk, I usually default to Parts Express and Monoprice usually. Amazon basics too. Copper wire is copper wire. *shrugs Obviously analogue wires require certain things in certain scenarios, but yeah.
  24. Dude...... Beldon 5T00UP is $2.25 per foot at Blue Jeans. Parts Express sells the same stuff for $1.79 / foot, or $143 for 100ft of it. Belden 5T00UP 10 AWG 2C Cable Hi-Flex In-Wall Speaker Wire CL2 Per ft. USA WWW.PARTS-EXPRESS.COM Belden 5T00UP 10 AWG 2C Cable Hi-Flex In-Wall Speaker Wire CL2 Per ft. USA. Part Number: 102-1190 by Belden. You're paying more just to buy it from a snake oil salesman at Blue Jeans. They make their money off selling their "ultra sonic welding" and their "color print out sheets". There's been people that have paid thousands of dollars for cables at that company, and had absolutely zero discernable difference from regular lamp cord. They're just as bad or worse than monster cable. You can even buy the stuff cheaper than Blue Jeans on Amazon..... Note the description: "We can cut to any length" https://www.amazon.com/Belden-5T00UP-Cable-Hi-Flex-Speaker/dp/B00CWEND4C I will admit, that they're not AS BAD when looking at their raw materials though. But their assembled cables, a lot of them (not all) are absolute snake oil.
