EDIT:
Sometime in the middle of the night last night, literally less than 12 hours after I put this on......some idiot decided they wanted it.  Now there's a giant ding in my tailgate and all the damn bolts are stripped.  I'm absolutely livid.  It's a piece of freaking metal that was bolted to the car, like who the...........nevermind.  I removed it tonight, its now stored in my closet till I can freaking move. -_-

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Little update on my Jeep for you guys, since I gave up long ago on build logs for cars....... :lachen:

This is all going to be sandblasted and powder coated black next spring (with all 5 of the wheels).  Electrical tape is all I could find to protect the paint on the Jeep itself, but it works for now.  Today, we finished fabbing up the brackets to mount the custom ladder on it! :wheee:

Went to look at the 11th gen the other day, really nice car. Love the inside. Only downsides are the complete lack of steering feel, very touchy brakes despite having a lot of travel after the initial bite and the accelerator felt like it had 1000ms of input latency and then on a rubber band.

Probably going to buy one in Spring regardless, have to go CVT because my partner can't drive manual. Hopefully she can learn in my S2000 and we can trade it up for a manual one down the road though 🙂

You know what's funny? I started making it all patriotic in 2019 when I bought it. Before all this political stuff got so mainstream. I always build my cars with a theme in mind.

...we went for a drive in the mountains Easter Sunday as the weather was nice, then an atmospheric river came along...thawing the iced hood in a parking garage so I can actually open it later. Front parking sensors were also iced over, incessantly beeping.

That's a weird place to put a speed limit sign. Usually they're on the side of the road and much bigger. It's also weirdly specific. I would have assumed it would be 50 km/h, not 47.

Nice looking floor jack.  Good ones always look like more than I want to carry very far.  Genuinely curious about the quote above.  Did you possibly mean "impact wrench" instead?  Or do you intend to tighten your wheel mounting hardware to a very specific torque spec?

Haha - best part is that sometimes, the 'electronic mother in law' gets it wrong, and like mothers in law the world over, won't admit to that fact.

Hey, this got bumped again.  Guess I can update ya'll.  Taking my Jeep 15" wheels off, and taking those and the ladder down to a local sandblasting / powder coating place.  Am planning on having this done by end of the week hopefully.  The wheels and ladder will get blasted and powder coated satin black (ladder being a non skid powder coat in satin black).  Should have them back and on the Jeep in 4-6 weeks according to the finishing place.

Yeah I wouldn't trust a (cheap) impact driver to tighten lug nuts especially if I'm taking it to the track. I need to torque the lug nuts to around 80-90lb-ft if I remember correctly, so I got this:

Shifter rebuilt, replaced all the plastics and rubbers around/in it too and even more Honda urea grease slapped on (after the old one got removed). Also slapped on some Shin Etsu grease on any rubber bits and plastic clips in the center console and engine bay. All the rubber hoses and wiring got a nice coating of it.

Also replaced the front bumper black inner trim and rubber and put on some (Spoon lol) front radiator stays because why not, the original one was looking a bit tired. Got to clean out a bunch of sand from under it too.

^Koedood Marine Group?

he works on large marine diesel engines for a living. we have toy cars, he has toy ships.

in other news, i havent got the pictures handy, but someone decided to walk up beside my car in my parents driveway and kick the drivers side mirror off the door.

guy was on security camera video and was reported to police. i'm now3 about to be out about $180 for a power heated mirror. sometimes cars with options bite you later on.

i also have a friend who is in-process on making my custom exhaust for me. my resonator is going away and im going to have a flowmaster sportsman series off the end of a straight 3 inch pipe from the bottom of the cats. gonna have a nice rumbly burble to the car when its done. and yes i know nobody does this to chrysler 4 door sedans. but im that guy.

if anybody needed reference, heres the car which im sure is somewhere in the thread already.

2004 chrysler sebring touring 2.7 V6 , i have a feeling once that resonator is gone and it has a more open muffler its going to make more power.

and before someone says my rear shocks are gone cause its sitting low in the back. i had 2 tool boxes 2 ratchet sets and an outboard motor in my trunk that day

Not a great way to start your day, everyone was ok though...
Glad it wasn't my own van, that one was in for repairs 😄

Glad you were not hurt, bro. That is the most important thing.

Man, having a crash in a Smart car is a scary thought. It did a fair amount of damage to the VM van. I can't see the front of the turdbox that rear-ended the van, but I can imagine that is it probably the end of the line for that crummy little coupe. Hammer meets nail... hammer wins. But, this is in reverse. Looks like the nail tried to drive the hammer. But, the outcome is the same. Hammer wins.

Edit: "Hammer wins" sounds like the conclusion of a Mortal Combat challenge, LOL.
