We have noooz socket 939 entries yet, what gives ?  PIO ???

Dood!  Awesome job with the SLI 460's!  Dont' get discouraged if Flux comes in and does runs, its all part of the game. 🙂  If his run is invalid, which it probably will be because its Flux...then yours will still stay anyway. :lachen:

Read the requirements on the Socket 939 CPU runs.  Requires an Athlon processor, NO Opterons.  I can't find my x2. -_-

I have the Opty 180 I bent the pins and straightened with the Credit card trick and the delided Athlon 3500+ if I can find it LOL.  It's out there some where in the garage O.o  I could always buy a chip but that's just wasting money LOL.

The Opteron is okay for the DDR1 memory bench I do believe.  For the AMD CPU runs (for DDR1 systems) it says no Opteron is the only rule, so your 3500+ would be suitable there.

@iamjancois supposed to be running his 2080ti. I wish i saved one of my four 2080tis i sold a few months ago 😢

Ran ddu this past evening, will be draining the bench tomorrow. We'll see how it goes from there, but I'm pretty sure something will at least be up and running by the end of next weekend.

@Cerberus Those cards are really nice and you could use them for some subs for your own. They are also valuable for team points, just not the team cup sadly.

@iamjanco Nice checklist, good luck 👍

The 960T showed up today, which means I could get a run in with on the ASRock 990FX Xtreme 3 board (as @pioneerisloud was so nice to use the Sabertooth already 😞 )
Still waiting on the 890GX board, but that one is shipped.

Want me to run my ASRock 990FX Extreme 3?  I can....... :lachen:

I don't have a 960T though, and I definitely tapped out my 965BE, so kinda pointless anyway. 😛

We've got to work on your Socket 754 run too.  I'll bug you on discord about it, but I'm sure we can get you to squeeze out a little more MHz out of it.  It's a K8, so in theory it should tap out around 2.5GHz-3GHz+ depending on the chip.  It should do really well with RAM too assuming the IMC's not damaged already.  NF motherboard so you've got a good board to start with at least.

Yeah yeah yeah, shots fired..... 🔫  I'd like to see us break into 4th place though.  We were knocked back down to 6th though right now.

I really don't know which of the two is the better board but I guess the Sabertooth. I'll do just fine on the Extreme3 though, hopefully tonight.
The 754 as you know is a work in progress, parts ordered and information is being digested. Too much to do... 🙈

Yeah Kyle, where is that 5700xt run you promised me? Now that the review is finished you have time to do a little better than me 😄

Correct, kinda sucks but it is what it is. Biggest issue of this comp is how specific some of the rules are. I do get it though, but still it's a bit intensive with a small team.

I found all kinds of hardware today While looking for my OCZ Platnum DDR400 PC3200 and Crucial Ballistix DDR500 PC4000 ram.  I found all my other MSI Cyclone GTX 460 1GB GUP's 😕  Which would have come in handy the other day when I was gluing fan blades back on that hawk twin forozer LOL.  Oh well probably for the best because if I had found those before fixing the fan on the hawk I most likely would have just boxed it back up with the broken fan blades "N2 Hides with a palm to face"

So I was interested in knowing which version of GeekBench (Geekbench 5 for Win vs. Geekbench 5 Pro) I should buy to fulfill the Primate Labs link requirement and searched Google for hwbot geekbench which version should I buy, and came up with a few interesting results and some additional questions. One of the top returns was a link to a thread in the Hwbot forum about the subject at hand, which was tossed around during the 2019-2020 time frame:

Geekbench 5

It's a short two-page thread, so I read through and if I understood what was discussed in it correctly, there were issues using Geekbench 5 with HWBOT competitions; hence, I've got the following few questions I'm hoping you guys can answer:

  1. uh, naturally, which version should I buy? if the non Pro version suffices, I'd prefer that.

  2. because of apparent issues with Geekbench 5 when used with Win 10 (see that thread) there's talk of a different validation utility called Benchmate in that forum thread that appears to be about a replacement for Geekbench. I'm guessing though that they're still working on getting HWBOT to recognize it as an alternative to Primal Labs' Geekbench, so I need to ask should I use an earlier version of Geekbench?  Please note I'm using WIN 10 Pro 64 bit on my bench.

Anyway, looking forward to what you guys know about what I asked/proffered above, and TIA!

benchmate does not replace geekbench, but locks down your system so you cannot "edit" benchmark results after runs. it can also submit results directly to HWBOT from inside the program after you save, just login to your hwbot account via the program. it also takes screenshots for you.

If you want to properly restore that card that you glued the fan back together on.....you CAN buy replacement fans for it. 😉

Buy and sell electronics, cars, fashion apparel, collectibles, sporting goods, digital cameras, baby items, coupons, and everything else on...

Just a generic search, but the Hawk Twin Frozr is just a 75mm fan, same as all of the ones listed in that search.  Depending on if yours are wired together or separately would determine which one to buy since you can buy a single fan or the pair.  Most are going to be coming from China though, so it'll be a few weeks wait. 🙂  If you wanted to restore it properly of course.

Geekbench 3 and 5 can be run without purchasing a license. You will have to run the trial version and it will only be the 32 not the 64 bit version. It shouldn't matter hugely (64 bit does offer slightly better scores). GB has not been integrated into benchmate yet, so you will need to download it from the official site. You can register for free at the PLabs site.

GB3/5 require a license per application. You do NOT need the PRO license.

GB 5- License for windows $9.99

GB 3- License for windows $14.99

Thanks.  I'm happy with the repair.  I took my time and matched each blade individually back to where it had broken away from.  Then layed them out and lined the broken off blades in order to maintain proper placement.  Followed by the tedious task of gluing them back on one by one.  The last one was the most difficult because there was not much room left to operate.  I was going to post pics of the ram kits I finally found out in the garage but most of it won't be used in the competition so kind of off topic.

Edit:  The fans on this twin frozer are tied together into one plug.  That is a lot of fan options there on ebay btw 🙂 Good to know all those options are available.

cleaned the 5950x using only the best products recommended by the surgeon general of california (causes deformities in unborn children; not something i've got to really worry about anymore), mounted the techN block (that was a pain in the arse), installed the 2080ti in air mode.  while i was recovering from the dizziness i experienced after removing my 3m mask, I'd forgotten just how heavy that 3090 KPE was (it hasn't lost any weight). next up, i'll run blitz part 2 through the loop for half a day, then flush it with distilled, and reassemble it with the updated bench setup.

The iGPU DDR3 run has been done too, which puts us back into 6th place (for now).
We're only 37 points away from 4th place, and if we beat a specific run from them it'll take even less points.

I'm far from experienced with the hardware below, thanks to @pioneerisloud I know a thing or two but it hasn't been easy to get this working properly.
The result is 'ok', not really what I was hoping for but it'll do 🙂

There might be more, but that's for another day. I'll try with different memory and with only 4 cores enabled instead of 6.
